but I think the current thing is a MW build with LRB, duckett, shield and something to maintain stagger with (usually the laser orbit, but anything with lots of uptime works).
Sounds miserable. I'm glad I haven't touched the PvP in a long time. I hit A rank after ranked came out and got tired of fighting the same 3 builds ad nauseam. BVO was the least cancerous of the meta builds at the time since you at least needed to play the game, until people found out you could run BVOs as a fat fuck and assault boosting while face checking all damage. I'll just stick to replaying the campaign once every 6 months.

Where is the DLC, From? Nightreign is fun but fucking hell.
More likely to get a second entry in the era, it'd fit all the past patterns. But it was also a gap of an entire decade between VD and 6- not to mention 6 getting a fancy title- so anything goes.

Since this thread's last page is a bit depressing (understandable given that AC6 is finished and they're more likely to give it the AC6-2 treatment), how do you people feel about the overhaul mods for this game? Armored Core Inferno (it got an unofficial expansion) and AC6 Armoury are the most notable ones and the only ones I've played.

Inferno is neat for a bit with how much it adds and changes but gets a bit much with its difficulty after a while, which is unexpected given it's one of those "expert" mods but it's still a ton of fun if you're decent at the game. I did hear it was unbalanced as hell in earlier versions but from what I've played it's not bad. Changes up the game in its entirety so it definitely gives the game a new feel, but that feel is not for the casual player, you will get a bunch of content and it will kick your ass with it.

Armoury is my favorite of the two due to the sheer amount of content added to the game, so much that it bricked my saved because I had so many parts that the game couldn't give me the "broken AC" in the beginning of Chapter 5, and since the game saved after beating the final boss in chapter 4 I couldn't delete parts. Turns out, there's a limit to how many parts you're allowed, vanilla AC6 is way below that limit iirc but Armoury adds so many parts you can easily reach it. There's variants of every part in the game that you can use to fine tune your AC to the limit, not to mention the ton of new toys to play with (mostly references to older games, I believe there's soft versions of the ultimate weapons from AC5/VD). There's even shit inspired by the bosses for you to use, they're easily the most fun weapons. One of my favorite additions beyond the parts and the mission changes is the new arena ACs (based off ACs from older games and I think other people's OC ACs), they're noticeably different from vanilla AI and...fuck me they're harder than most of the Inferno mod enemies...

There's a major update coming to Inferno in the next week or two, after which the mod will be "complete" and the maker will be moving onto to another AC6 project.

I don't like the armory mod, I think it's poorly made and the gameplay changes are kind of schizophrenic. The creator also suffers from "my OCs are the coolest things ever" syndrome.

Turns out Birb works faster than even he predicted. Inferno's 2.0 update is out now.

Saw a game called Vital Shell, aesthetics are inspired by the original Armored Core but the gameplay is a bullet hell "shmup" like Vampire Survivor.
"PS1" graphics, "breakcore," INB4 I have to post it in the troonslop thread. Overall, seems like your run-of-the-mill low effort time waster.
Was waiting for the update for a bit, completely missed it anyway. Fuck.

AC6, as a complete AC noob, is pretty cool so far. Took awhile to get used to the movement and how everything works, still haven't mastered it, but it's starting to grow on me. At first I thought everything is too fast, but there can be a certain interesting rhythm to things.

It's quaint in how simple it seems to be. It's not a bloated, unfocused piece of shit, drunk on its own supposed importance. No no, you just do missions. You load in, shoot the things and that's it. Customization and upgrading between missions is cool and engaging enough.

I like the way it looks too. It can look a little old and crusty in parts, but the overall big picture is kind of impressive to me. When it wants to show you something cool, it knows how to pull it off.

Quite charming. I'm not far into the game yet, but it's been a very "pretty good, 7/10" experience. For once that's a positive, feels like games have to either suck or be totally awesome nowadays. I mainly bought this game to suck off Miyazaki in hopes that he would add me to his will, but I got a neat game out of it too.

just a note, New game+ is important, and radically changes thing, same for ++, you cannot see the true ending until ++.

Just learned that these Jap fucks would rather port the FLIP PHONE AC games to PC than even entertain the idea of porting the real versions games, they're nearly 1:1 ports so that means no English as these were Japan exclusive iirc.
Is it some sort licensing issue? AC6 was by far the most popular AC game so you'd think they'd at least port the original and maybe 2 and 3 if they do well enough. They can't be expensive or hard. Man I wish the AC community was as autistic as the Sonic one since the fans made that recompile of Unleashed for PC.
