Is it normal that all I did to kill Balteus in 3 tries was just the basic R&D hull with a Haldeman, a Turner, 1 8-missile Furlong ML and 1 4-missile Furlong ML? Because those fights felt like the most autistic I have ever felt in a long while playing vidya, suddenly dodging those missiles without even having second thoughts.
 
Balteus is pretty build agnostic (like a lot of the bosses frankly). The only thing that really makes it easier is having a pulse weapon to break the shield. I think on my first run through I got him with a curtis, pulse blade and 2x 4 cell missile build on a nacht frame.

Nowadays? Yea. His missile spam got nerfed when they made all the "hard" bosses easier. Combined with lots of weapons getting buffed he's not really hard anymore.

Weapon Set 06, basically all of Rusty's weapons with some extra connectors. Should be pretty good for those already have Rusty, ORBITER or MELANDER frame for kitbashing.

I didn't realize that the Orbiter and Melander kits only came with a single weapon. I wanted another Ransetsu but I only have Steel Haze from the 30MM kits so buying just set 06 isn't very cost effective for me. Sneaky fuckers, it's a good excuse to buy more of them. Set 5 having the pulse blade and a shield is pretty cool, actualy. Might buy Snail along with sets 5 and 6.
What I REALLY want though is an Ibis kit.

AC6 was fun, but it wasn’t hyped to shit and beyond like ER was.

I’m waiting for the expansion they’ll do for it. The For Answer or Verdict day. They rewrote the story due the Russia-Ukraine hug and kiss fest. I wonder if sentient space gasoline-cocaine will be expanded upon.

I actually like 6’s setting the best out of the series. Space mercenaries duking it out. The PCA is neat in that they are effectively just another mercenary company pretending they aren’t.
 
New patch, very few changes. Looks like they fixed the bad hitbox when using basho core and nacht legs, so that meme build is hopefully done.
  • Hit detection has been improved on ACs with certain Frame Part configurations that made them more difficult to hit. The following adjustments have been made after taking the effects of these improvements into account:
    • CORE “AC-J-120 BASHO”: increased Booster Efficiency Adj.
    • BIPEDAL “NACHTREIHER/42E”: increased AP
    • BIPEDAL “VE-42A”: increased AP
  • Adjusted stagger behavior for enemy ACs when multiple hit detections are registered simultaneously
  • Fixed a bug that prevented ACS load buildup under specific circumstances
System related fixes

  • Fixed a bug in the DECAL menu that allowed images used to exceed the layer limit
  • Fixed a bug that caused the game to crash under specific circumstances
Online match related fixes

  • Fixed a bug that caused the opponent AC not to display correctly

No Trophies. Rewind Feature is barely helpful for if you go full retard and boost off the map.

Game sort of freaks out if you equip the 9800 Gen, with those legs you get from the Gun Implacement Mission aand the E-cap part. You can achieve TAS level speed without using a TAS bot. I fired up the disc version and it doesn't do that on the original game.

Tank legs do stomp these people out but fighting the same light-weight double zimmerman build over and over again gets really boring.
 
Dual zimmies is still a thing? I figured the horrendous pvp had evolved past that by this point. Last I played the meta was dual stunguns which then turned into literally impossible to catch missile rats and AP checking assault boosting fatties.

Yeah, 2x zim is still a lot of upfront damage and stagger. They never really went away, unlike stun guns whose time in the sun lasted all of 10 minutes until people remembered you can fully counter any status build with a shield, which are good on their own anyway.

I haven't kept up with the meta too well, but I think the current thing is a MW build with LRB, duckett, shield and something to maintain stagger with (usually the laser orbit, but anything with lots of uptime works).
