Shots fired after federal police in Minneapolis struggle to subdue man brandishing gun amid protests, video shows​

Shots rang out in Minneapolis early Saturday after federal police tried to subdue a man who was waving around a gun, according to law enforcement sources and video posted to social media.

A 39-second clip showed about half a dozen cops struggling with someone on the sidewalk in front of a donut shop at 26th Street and Nicollet Avenue, when the gunfire erupted.

The officers appeared to scatter after the barrage of shots went off, according to the footage.



The shooting happened after the man brandished a firearm with two magazines, a law enforcement source told The Post, sharing a photo of the firearm.

In a statement, city officials urged residents to stay calm and avoid the area.


“We are aware of reports of another shooting involving federal law enforcement in the area of 26th Street W and Nicollet Ave. We are working to confirm additional details,” the statement said.

More than 100 protesters had been at the scene when the encounter occurred. The man’s condition was not immediately known.





On Friday, protesters yelled obscenities at two people wearing plain clothes who they believed to be agents after protesters claimed their rental car was linked to the incident, according to video reviewed by The Post.

Neither person was an officer.



Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.) posted about the incident on X late morning Saturday as the details of the shooting were still unfolding.

“I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening,” he wrote.

“The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.”


Neither the White House or the Department of Homeland Security have said what precipitated the shooting, and did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

How legal a shoot is doesn't change the outcome for the person who got shot. They're dead, and in both these cases, the deceased took actions that directly led to their own demise. Actions they had time to avoid taking.

You can't explain this to retards without them calling you a bootlicker though, which is a term so thoroughly redditorized that the moment I see it used I automatically assume the person in question is a retard.

Basic sense around law enforcement is not bootlicking, and pointing out retards dying because of this lack of common sense isn't bootlicking. In the times I've been pulled over by asshole cops for minor infractions and entirely made-up ones, not once did I decide to start yelling at the officer in question and get physical. Why? Because I'm not a fucking moron. You can generally hate law enforcement while also understanding you can't chimp out around them.

But somehow pointing out that fact is bootlicking and you are actually an evil fascist chud who is going to be locked up when the Rebel Alliance of Dumbledore's Army saves democracy!

Everything happening in Minneapolis is now a pressure cooker. It's a neat method of funneling all the naturally psychotic and psychotic-adjacent into a saturated battleground where everyone (yet no one) will be satisfied with wanton violence towards each other, towards themselves, and towards the government. It should be obvious by now that government resources will be emboldened and reinforced against this behavior, and we should enable and encourage anyone even considering violence towards their enemies to be funneled into this newfound arena, to thin out the herd. Go to Minneapolis, comrades! For death (mainly yours) and glory (mainly theirs).

If the suspect had a foam pool noodle then technically he was armed and it was in fact not a violation of department policy.

Of course the talking heads won't tell you the details of what "armed" means in this context, as vaguely titled articles create panic that wouldn't happen otherwise.

There are certain people who treat every encounter with law enforcement the same way they treat someone trying to pass them on a highway. As a challenge to their ego.

When you consider peaceful compliance and being respectful as pussy behavior, you have an incentive to act as belligerently as possible and invite a reaction. Problem is that this feeds into the asshole cop problem, since you're a) removing normal dudes who get sick of the constant rude behavior and b) makes every cop assume an encounter will be a hostile one.

Also, don't forget - The shitlibs angry that he got shot are on reddit right now saying "His gun was holstered! He wasn't a threat!" But if someone walked around flaunting their big iron at a leftist gathering they'd very likely assault that person for "threatening their lives".

It's amazing how quick they went from "Abolish all guns" to "If you're a responsible gun owner it's fine and the cops shouldn't be able to do shit."

edit for clarification: I've always firmly believed if you're a responsible gun owner, cops shouldn't be able to do shit. What I'm saying isn't indicative of my opinion on this specific event, I'm just pointing out the rapid switchup by some people.
