Shots rang out in Minneapolis early Saturday after federal police tried to subdue a man who was waving around a gun, according to law enforcement sources and video posted to social media.

A 39-second clip showed about half a dozen cops struggling with someone on the sidewalk in front of a donut shop at 26th Street and Nicollet Avenue, when the gunfire erupted.

The officers appeared to scatter after the barrage of shots went off, according to the footage.

The shooting happened after the man brandished a firearm with two magazines, a law enforcement source told The Post, sharing a photo of the firearm.

In a statement, city officials urged residents to stay calm and avoid the area.

“We are aware of reports of another shooting involving federal law enforcement in the area of 26th Street W and Nicollet Ave. We are working to confirm additional details,” the statement said.

More than 100 protesters had been at the scene when the encounter occurred. The man’s condition was not immediately known.

On Friday, protesters yelled obscenities at two people wearing plain clothes who they believed to be agents after protesters claimed their rental car was linked to the incident, according to video reviewed by The Post.

Neither person was an officer.

Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.) posted about the incident on X late morning Saturday as the details of the shooting were still unfolding.

“I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening,” he wrote.

“The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.”

Neither the White House or the Department of Homeland Security have said what precipitated the shooting, and did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Despite what the Post says about the protestor's condition, Fox News is reporting he died. Spiciness inbound.

Reminder that, not even a week ago, shitlibs were harassing Christians attending church because they thought the preacher was an ICE agent because he shared the name of one.

So, I don't wanna hear any fucking mealymouthed bullshit about "turning the heat down".
"Jesus says love thy neighbor somewhere in the Bible. That means that we need to love the people that are here illegally. Unless our neighbor works for the DHS, then we can dox his or her entire family and harass the people they graduated from high school with 20 years ago."

Duality of leftists co-opting Christianity based on the belief it's all about peace and compassion and nothing else.

You have an individual with a gun, who attends a protest, refuses arrest, and despite numerous LEO telling him to stop, he keeps thrashing violently about.
If you continue to struggle like a nigger despite being surrounded by several armed, agitated police officers, where the outcome of quitting to struggle was being arrested, then your death is your own fault.

I can only assume he kept resisting because he wanted to kill an ICE agent.

Moral of the story is to not be a nigger.

You all are an entertaining lot and would benefit both yourselves and the site at large greatly from your presence here

Oh he deleted it

*ahem* I just think the woke and empathetic thing would be for the entirety of TES to enter this thread, much to the enjoyment &/or pleasure of others. Dolly Parton would do that. Same with black jesus. Do it for they/them.

No i get it, it is kind of boring screaming into the void with no response. Where is the fun in that?
A&N has kind of gotten stale, to be honest. So yeah i deleted my messages. I will let you guys get back to screaming into the void.

I should have saved it, what was that quote somebody posted fairly recently about how lawyers have months or years to break down decisions that law enforcement had literal seconds to make?

the CBP thought he was reaching for his gun when he was actually reaching for something else, right? They probably should've at least checked what he was holding before shooting him
>Well how do you know that the hostile derelict you're in the process of arresting is reaching for a(nother) gun before he's actually grabbed it and shown you? They should have checked first!

I understand that, but if I'm not mistaken, the CBP thought he was reaching for his gun when he was actually reaching for something else, right? They probably should've at least checked what he was holding before shooting him.
Every single law enforcement officer knows that if someone is willing to bring a gun to a confrontation, they might bring two guns. We all have the privilege of playing back footage and autistically combing it for information that protects our preconceived notions, but when you are living the moment you have no idea what comes next.

The retard was already confirmed armed and was reaching around on his person for something. Anyone reasonable (and especially anyone that has to deal with violent retards regularly) wouldn't take the chance that it's a second gun.

This thread has by far come the closest to provoking a serious, genuinely angry rant from me during my time on this website.

But I have work in the morning, so I'll just say this:

Nuremberg 2.0 is going to be lit af
6 million dead protesters please

Don't expect honesty or consistency out of the people mad about this. I'll go ahead and say the dude shouldn't have been shot and his death could've been prevented, but that's as far as I'll go. Mainly because, leftists love to demonize law enforcement, and while I'm not gonna glaze or even defend them, the point being, the left as a whole, love to make the law out to be some sort of super violent darkie hunting hit team. They're also the same people who said something like, "What do you think a protest is? Peaceful? Letter writing campaigns?" So using their own words, I can present the focal point being "You're gonna go pick a fight with people you think are a government backed hit squad." The next obvious question should be, "How do you think that will turn out?" And so they stuck going round and round about how the police didn't need to use x-amount of force, and at the same time, not bringing a weapon or not confronting the cops is cuckservative/boot-licker magatardism.

The issue being, I don't want to think they're that stupid (while they defy every ounce of grace I give them); doing anything to law enforcement is gonna get hands put on you, and there's plenty of bad cop videos online that should make anyone of sound mind question what they're doing. So the real question shouldn't be "What do you think will happen?" but "Are you prepared to go all the way?" I don't want violence to happen, I don't want anyone getting shot, but these idiots trying to play grab ass with the cops is bringing it on themselves... and unfortunately, I think stacking martyrs is part of their gameplan. They really don't care about the people who get shot and killed, their bodies are just props to say how bad Trump/ICE/etc are for whatever comes next election cycle.

I think this is what happened, there could be more footage I've not seen though.
- Guy (legally) had a gun on him
- Tries to assist someone being arrested by ICE
- Gets dragged into it
- Someone on the sidelines notices his gun
- Tries to remove it while the ICE agents are on top of him so they don't get alarmed
- ICE agents only then notice the gun with a hand reaching for it
- Assume it's the guy on the ground reaching for it
- Shoot the guy on the ground
- Guy who grabbed the gun sneaks away

I'm not American and I've never held more than a pellet gun, but it's my understanding that there are strict regulations around carrying guns, including a requirement to carry ID and if stopped by law enforcement for any reason, you must immediately identify yourself, state that you are armed and allow the LEO to disarm you and check your ID if they require it.

If you don't comply with those regulations, you are no longer legally carrying. Similar to how I have a driving license, but if I drive uninsured, or if I continue driving after police direct me to stop, I'm not legally driving.

Anyone who wants to bring up Rittenhouse should be reminded that Rittenhouse wasn't a protestor, he was protecting a business he worked for and the mob attacked him first.

You had an easy win on your steps with going in and exposing massive fraud among immigrants while picking up illegals, but instead you just couldn't stop yourself from peppering some people with bullets.

"There's a slight divide on the site I think. There are actually some quality posters on there who basically moved on or started calling out MAGA droneflies as the new lolcows. It reminds me a little of the start of the ResetEra split."

"There is a join date element to it, older posters are often more liberal, but users from 2020 onward tend to be psychotic rightoids. Back in the day Kiwifarms was a more normal website, so older users tend to have opinions that were mainstream in the mid 2010s. But as the mainstream internet got more censoriously liberal the hardcore rightoids migrated to smaller sites where they wouldn't be censored and took them over."

Redditors inexplicably being right about something.

No, you absolute retard. That's how police and soldiers get killed. You don't wait for the bad guy to shoot you first.
Why don't you tell us how cops should try to shoot criminals in the knees or even better, shoot the guns out of their hands?

I hate that word so much. When they use it, ask them to show you the NT Verse where Jesus said it.

Gun in hand?
no.

that was the gun that was disarmed from him, it wasn't wrangled out of his hands.

view from the front (gun is taking off his hip 0:13-0:15).

view from across the street.

agents saying they can't find the gun.

So am I correct about this?

He threatened a woman, pushed her into the ground and pepper sprayed her, and then when the feds pin him down he fired from his gun so they killed him.

(I heard that he was using the woman as a meat shield at one point)

Too bad everyone will only take this out of context.

we don't need these rageslop platitudes being regurgitated verbatim, go quote engagement jeets elsewhere.

- Tries to assist someone being arrested by ICE

the woman was not being arrested, the woman gets in the agents face and then gets pushed onto the ground; that's when the dead guy steps between the two and gets maced, dead guy then turns around towards the woman on the ground and appears to try and help her back up while the agent continues spraying him from the back, then during this more agents come in and start wrestling him onto the ground before the shitshow really gets going.

- Someone on the sidelines notices his gun
- Tries to remove it while the ICE agents are on top of him so they don't get alarmed
that's pretty obvious an ICE agent who disarms him, not some random bystander.

as for why they started shooting here are three theories i have;
  1. the disarmed SIG P320 had a ND after gray jacket took it out of the holster, ICE gets spooked and react accordingly and magdump him thinking the shot came from the suspect (not knowing he was disarmed a second prior), i feel this the most likely outcome and also the most vindicating angle for ICE because it's a reasonable shoot with this information they had.
  2. green vest guy notices a gun in the holster and calls it out, then notices the holster being empty but wasn't aware his fellow agent disarmed him and figured the suspect had armed himself and is the first person to start shooting before the other agents join in, but this only works on the assumption green vest shot first rather than the P320 ND'ing.
  3. green vest accidentally shoots (you can see the finger on the trigger in the video above), thinks "oh shit" before committing to unloading as per protocol, which would obviously be the least defensible theory.
that's enough CONCLOODING for now, i'll wait for updates on the investigation (if any) and see if we'll ever learn about where the first shot came from.

The guy was an ICU nurse at the local VA.
I think this nurse intentionally started shit with ICE in the hopes of getting arrested (and maybe even roughed up a little) so the media can run with "ICE brutalizes nurse that cares for America's Veterans!" But since he thought Somalians are worth keeping around it doesn't surprise me that he also thought bringing a gun with him to fuck with ICE was a swell idea.
