Iirc, Dan was going to be brought on to create "Steam Train" with Ross initially. When Jon left, Arin couldn't get anyone else, so Dan was brought in on the main show as well.

Alleged to be RicePirate but never confirmed. In short Oney's crew has always been chill which is why OneyPlays hosts can come and go like it's no big deal but Arin has made doing that impossible because he treats Game Grumps way too seriously.

This reminds me of these old 4chan threads I saw about TGWTG and describing how messed up the production and members were, years before all the big leaks happened.
 
Jon has a cute brit wife, can take months off at a time between videos with no consequence, doesn't have to stick to just covering video games, receives millions of views per video, and was so funny and likeable that he was able to escape being cancelled for supposed racism.

I think I know what you're talking about. I remember this being mentioned on SleepyCabin. It was actually Arin acting that way as a prank that other Newgrounds guys were in on iirc (except the guy meeting him of course). This was way before Arin went super PC and stopped associating with ng types.

Vaguely recall something like that occuring when women, of age, whined about victimhood after they were bedded by Ryan Haywood of Rooster Teeth (those who were not underage that is).

When the Ryan Haywood stuff happened I seem to recall someone saying "everyone loves the sword until it's plunged into their chests." I'd have more sympathy for Dan had he and Arin not jumped on the ProJared train.

As a couple of people have pointed out, what we have right now is pretty underwhelming for any real grooming allegations and really just demonstrates he's a sleazy fucker who wants to fuck his fans. This sort of thing will get traction because there's been a ton of bad blood surrounding the GG, especially due to Arin's puritanical takes on things. Plus Danny acts and looks like a sex weirdo, so people will jump on the bandwagon if there's even a of whiff of sexual misconduct.
