Not surprised, in the slightest - it seems to be one of the few bit of merch that actually sells out fairly quickly. But, given the title of the image (After School); as skivvy as I found the Game Gyaru to be (considering they're rule 63/hyper sexualized versions of two grown men), the fact that they're implied to be high schoolers make it somehow worse.

Honestly the art does look good and I give props to the artist, it's just a shame it's tied to the Grumps. It's like being an artisan sandwich maker but you're working at a Subway.

It's like everyone there is going through widespread never-ending depression (and in some cases of exceptional Lovelies, who used these people as, I shit you not, a subsitute for sometimes very much needed therapy) and the five stages of grief, trying desperately to adjust to life after hitting a single button on YouTube (cuz it's just so hard leaving them guis). It's a fucking YouTube comedy show, not a breakup with an abusive parent.
That sub is a living, breathing instance of what I'd like to call subreddit bipolar disorder. On the one hand, you've got users like u/NotBlarg who're really good at archiving and posting stuff to a general audience, while never getting overly obsessive over it. On the other hand, you have people like u/aintputtinupwithsh (the guy (gal? I don't remember) from the whole "I'm sorry the truth has upset you" bit) who obsessively stalk Ashley and Dan, whilst posturing how they're better than everyone else, or that one dude who got into an SJW political debate with other exceptional individuals on Rant on SJG's iconography over romanticizing the Holodomer.

So I don't know how big of a crapstorm it is, but the GG twitter posted an animation of the Game Gyarus walking in like an '80s-'90s anime style. And credited as the animator is Egoraptor. The funny thing is, it's better animated than anything he's ever done. Which, he didn't really animate it according to his own replies. He essentially did the finishing touches. But when people are praising his animation, he doesn't point out the artist did most of the work. Iunno for a dude all whiny like Arin, to not give credit where credit is due seems lame. Yeah it's the game gyaru baloney and it's art they made a shirt out of too and all, it just... it's the principle of the thing? As silly as that sounds.

You'd be surprised how many people (mainly tumblr or Reddit) use YouTubers as a surrogate friend or family. Specifically people like "u/aintputtinupwithsh" who will obsessively complain about utter nonsense for no other reason than to scream in the void louder than the others. It's even better when they try to grandstand about being a "long term fan" and how they aren't boot-licking enough.

Moving on, all this over-hyping that "Egoraptor's animating again!" just for a two second gif that consisted of about 12-15 frames that Arin didn't even fully work on, and it was made to plug some merch? I can't tell which was stupider, people getting excited or Game Grumps actually doing this

I completely agree, I absolutely loathe Game Gyaru. I think at this point, the people getting excited are dumber. GG is just taking advantage of the people. Just wish they would properly credit it, since Egoraptor apparently died. All everyone has left over is Arin.

It was nice of Arin to wait at least 3 decades this time before using someone else's work. More like 3 years at this point but who's really counting.
I'm amazed this tweet is still up with some people like Justin Whang losing their accounts over false DMCAs. But this one is actually using copyrighted material without permission. The famous YT upload of the song itself even got taken down cause the photographer for the album used for the upload filed a copyright. But this stays up? Ridiculous.

Also meant to respond to this earlier, but couldn't resist talking about Arin's bad attempt at ripping off The Critic.
Be it smaller things like RantGrumps having stupidly weird quirks like u/Necrostasis continuing the joke about how Suzy's to blame for everything and eats African children, a joke they've been making for nearly 5 years at this point, to making up different names for Arin Hanson (Arnold, Armchair, Angle, Andlebar, Atreo, Abott, Eric, Evin, and so on until they devolve into complete gibberish); all while getting defensive when someone says it's not funny because "it's alright when Arin does it, so why not us?".
...To larger things like the Main subreddit's moderation issues - the escapades of which have been sufficiently documented here already - other drama concerning unrelated fandoms flooding over to the subreddit with people like TanookiSuit3 (who I think has actually been talked about on the Farms before but I'd have to double-check to make sure) and onichris, the seemingly endless amount of sycophants (see: Ashley's Angels/the new anti-Ashley group Ashley's Aggressors, u/shunkwugga whose attitude bred from Rant has made him infamous in completely unrelated communtites on top of r/GameGrumps), the entirety of Dream Daddy, and NotTheCinemassacre trying desparately in vein from having the subreddits eat each other alive.
BlueBreed, PolyGrumps, u/onichris, the Game Grumps Official Discord, and whatever the fuck the Game Grumps Facebook pages are (even I don't want to go anywhere near whatever hyperfueled autism storm those entail); I still stand by creating a Game Grumps Community Thread being in order if Arin's escapades get too frequent that fandom drama gets lost in the shuffle, but I'd need a lot of help to catalogue all of it.
EDIT: Case in point, an "absuive relationship" Lovely coming back to bask at Arin's feet and the very ground he walks on, over his opinion of Majora's Mask.
