I forgot what episode it was in but does anyone remember that story arin told about how he would jerk off with a bunch of his friends when they were teens?
I think that was when i realized Arin was a fucking lolcow

The name "Game Gyaru" doesn't even fit. If they were going to be gyaru they should've slap some large nails and fake tans on those designs.
 
I used to be such a huge fan of his, way before he was even an animator, back when he was only an amateur voice actor on Newgrounds back in 04.

I dropped him completely when he did Game Grumps, mostly because I cannot stand lets plays at all. And his sequelitis series proved how much of a fucking casual bitch he was

This thread reminds me that I should make a thread in off topic about old Flash Animations. That shit was a comfy time

I think the biggest problem with his Zelda Sequelitis video is that it lacks any focus. There's so much build-up throughout the whole video to his big spergfest about Skyward Sword in such a way that it's meant to be sort of the climax of the whole thing. But none of the payoff matters when it has fuck all to do with the main subject, which is supposed to be ALttP vs. OoT, so all Arin does is make himself look like a complete and utter rétard by going off on this huge tangent for five minutes straight while at the same time casting off the shit that actually is on topic like it doesn't even matter.

Dropped the ball on that one, methinks.
 
Generally I'm opposed to making threads on popular internet celebrities. It reeks of circlejerk contrarianism and feels like a bastardization of the real point of this site, which is obscure laughing stocks who use the internet as their window to the world. Likewise, "being bad at video games" isn't really a lolcow thing unless you're DSP and your inadequacy is so striking it implies a sub-human IQ. Arin just sucks at playing Sonic the Hedgehog while talking to people.

Of course, Arin's also a fucking weirdo who's way too candid with the strange shit he does. The crossdressing and the pic of him going down on his alien bride are proof of that I think. Probably has something to do with the fact he's from Florida. At best he's a demi-cow. Hopefully though this thread leaves Dan out of it because Dan is a treasure.

Fixed it. Me and the kiwi who proofread the thread had a small discussion about DSP so the links must've mixed up.

Will do, Dan's only real crime is being a yes man and not really contributing much to an episode anymore from what I see. He's mostly on his phone or bored out of his mind, but this is all understandable because he's having to play video games with a guy who relies on other people to make him entertaining. This is why I'm perplexed if having to talk is really making him worse at the game, couldn't he just let Dan carry the episode during a difficult part?

What's really bad about Dan is his deviant fanbase. Watch live performances of his band Ninja Sex Party and look at how many attendees look like they could be his daughter, and then realise that Dan is hitting forty this year or already has so they could maybe even look like they could be his grandaughter if you really pushed it. It's really creepy, especially since Dan was scared of revealing any potential relationships (like his new girlfriend) because they'd go crazy.

Even Arin's OC can't pass as a female when it's in women's clothing. Look at how masculine its face is. That's just depressing.
 
YouTube's algorithm really hit animators hard. Arin was one of the first animators to make a show out of Let's Plays in order to have some kind of venture outside of animation.

I remember really liking the original Game Grumps a lot. I was bummed when JonTron left, but I warmed up to Danny after a while, but then I just kind of... stopped watching them.

I don't remember what it was, but I think it was a video on a Disney Princess game where Arin and Danny made some rape jokes and were crucified on Twitter for it. They caved pretty quickly. Yeah, the joke wasn't that funny, but damn. And the unpersoning of JonTron, even in light of Jon's "I just discovered Breitbart and now I know about politics" level of opinions, rubbed me the wrong way.

And since the Super Best Friends broke up, the Let's Player who does stuff in groups I still watch is just Oney Plays, I guess.

Dan got an insane number of views when he did the few Let's Plays he did by himself. It was over a million in no time where all of the regular episodes at the time were 200k-300k.

My favorite episodes are where he's actually engaged, like Tom Sawyer or Goonies 2. Otherwise he's just at the mercy of Arin. (I wish they would play more 80's stuff for Dan)
