I tend to think so, but I really have nothing to indicate it beyond self-esteem issues

I feel like it's my duty to be evil as to balance out the universe for when people do good things. So in a way I'm actually being quite helpful when I'm being an asshole.

In my culture the dominant strain for defining 'good' and 'evil' is either Christianity or a secular offshoot of it. So by the standards of the majority I would almost certainly be considered evil. There are other cultures, particularly Taoist ones and some Dharmic ones, where my True Neutral default setting would be seen as virtuous, however. So I guess location really matters.
