Looking at games on the Switch eShop right now (these are probably also available elsewhere) and I thought of getting them but I want to know if anyone here has experience with them first.

The games I'm looking at are:

* Oxide Room 104
* Rise of Insanity
*The Skylia Prophecy

The first two are horror games. Thing about Oxide is I wasn't clear on exactly what kind of game it was and whether or not it was a zombie game (zombies are boring). Rise of Insanity gives me vibes that it's gonna be yet another horror game where the twist is the player character did something bad and the entire game is them being punished (by themselves or by a third party) for it--a horror story trend I have come to absolutely loathe because of how overused it is.

Skylia Prophecy looks promising, its just that I'm not sure if it plays as good as it looks.

Anyway, let me know your thoughts... also please put spoilers behind a spoilermark.

Never even heard of them. At a glance, I think those horror games seem extremely generic, at least in presentation, though I'm pretty picky with horror.

The Skylia Prophecy also seems kind of generic but it looks nice outside of character design. Good use of color, environments are appealing. Might still be better off looking around more for something better.

Yeah horror is like, one of those genres where I'm not even sure why I'm into it, as most horror games wind up irritating me more than anything. The best self-justification I've ever given is that I'm training myself to resist fear.... but I'm not really sure that's it.

Right now the best horror I've played is the Yomawari games (well, the third one... I own the trilogy now but I'm playing them in reverse order since the third is the only one that hasn't been spoilered for me).

... the hell are those games?

No. I've never heard any of it. And if those are old games, I recommend you to search for longplays on YouTube and decide yourself whenever the game is worth your time or not.

doesn't matter the game's age, desu.
looking for general gameplays or longplays will help deciding if it's good or not.
unless you can pirate it to play it yourself of course.

Longplays are also likely to provide spoilers though. Once I've watched the game as a movie I might as well not even bother playing it myself.

In that case, you should try it yourself when massive discount kicks in or just pirate it. I don't think any of us ever heard nor play those games before. Sorry.
