are you allowed to back seat moderate if you are a moderator, and are moderators capable of posting if they do not care

Local moderators ARE allowed to backseat moderate even where they are unable to exercise their powers. They, in fact, could not be prohibited from doing so, as Xenforo does not allow moderators to be threadbanned.

Yes, we backseat moderate. If I see someone violating the rules of the forum in a thread that I am not a moderator, I will report the post to be jannied.

For example, the absolute retards that post in the Styx thread cannot grasp the concept of not double posting so I report posts frequently to be merged.
