Are CEOs paid too much?

Depends on the job in question. I suppose if a CEO is working 50% more hours than his subordinates, than he should earn 50% more money than his subordinates. But the value of his labor and of the goods and services he provides must also be taken into account. So if I am a CEO that works 60 hours a week instead of 40 and my labor is valued at 100$ an hour instead of 14$ an hour, then I will make far more money than even a few subordinate employees.
 
One's wages should be commensurate to their contribution to society.

In that regard, it depends on the CEO, the company, the goods or services being offered, the number of other people's jobs they're charged with ensuring the continued existence of, and how necessary or important those jobs are. But in general I'm a lot more bothered by grown men being awarded tens of millions of dollars for playing children's games.
