Is it just me or does it feel like they (Twittertivists) are now flooding Archive.ph with requests so that it's nearly impossible to archive things within a reasonable amount of time.
Yesterday I found myself in a queue of over 900 when the maximum I've ever seen before is 5-10. Today the queue is 600.

It feels like they saw WBMachine dropped the archives but Archive.ph didn't and they're now moving onto just flooding it with requests. It took about 2 hours for the queue to go down 300, are they trying to archive really large sites etc in order to make the archiving tool unusable?

TLDR: Is this normal traffic or is it activists flooding it?

I personally didn't see anything higher than 95, maybe bc everyone moved to ph, even BAR subreddit is using it now.

Do you use VPN when archiving? Sometimes that puts you at the very end of the line. If not, not archiving for a few days on the device which you use for archiving solved that problem for me in the past.

I use VPN but I've never had this issue before. I've not been archiving anything really since those threads were locked last week so that shouldn't be an issue either.

It's somewhat weird, it was 900 yesterday, then about 6 hours ago it was down to a queue of 2 and then 4 hours later it'd gone up to 600. Almost as if the queue isn't there for some parts of the day and there for other points onwards. In fact it's now increased to 1500 requests.

I'm just bringing it up because I saw the DKF crowd complaining in their groups about Archive.ph so wondering if they've found a way of flooding it with requests.

New TLDR: Can someone check to see if they're also having this queue?
Edit: Tried without VPN and on different browsers, same queue.

Echoing the previous poster - I've had queues in the hundreds (and once #1600) long before all this nonsense, so no need to worry I reckon

It seems to also depend on which site you're archiving. Twitter archives tend to take quite some time for me, but less-popular sites are done much faster.

It might also be based on the browsers user-agent. IIRC the person who runs archive.today was upset at the Brave founder so any archive requests being made with Brave got sent to the back of the line. Now this was probably over a year ago not sure if that issue was ever resolved. To test this try to archive a page on Brave while also trying to archive a page on some other browser. If Brave always takes way longer it is the browser that is the limiting factor.
