Bet the music is AI generated too. It fits the "write the music for the cinematic trailer of a surreal underwater adventure game" prompt pretty well but it's mixed weird, it sounds 'mushy' and not as energetic as they probably intended, and it randomly goes off-beat around 0:37.
Because it's cheaper than making a trailer using game footage, from a game that's probably barebones, or more affordable than good CGI. The developer knew that a lot of people would talk about this which, again, it's cheaper than making good marketing. I'm going to pirate it anyway .
They can shovel thousands at a graphic design team to produce a normal advertisement nobody will notice, or they can give one intern thirty bucks and an hour on Hailuo, to make a soon-to-be-normal ad that people will at least rage click on.
