Anyone else alone tonight?

Despite having a crazy fun year and feeling like I made connections and friends, I'm still alone on Christmas. My head went to that Smiths song:

"If you're so funny
Then why are you on your own tonight?
And if you're so clever
Then why are you on your own tonight?

Why do you sleep alone tonight?"

I have to leave tomorrow for a journey and now I'm doubting everything I thought about myself.

i know what its like to feel alone its my biggest fear tbh you just gotta distract yourself im learning chess and posting on here so distract yourself if you live on your own make a youtube channel or a forum

You can be alone, but not feel lonely.
It's a day like any other - the universe has not decreed that all must be together and make merriment. I'm sure it brings joy to many, but a lot would much rather not go and see some of the people they feel obligated to see due to cultural pressure.
You said you made connections and friends - that matters. You not being physically in their presence on this one particular evening? Doesn't matter.

Going on a journey sounds great, hope you find contentment wherever it takes you.
