Any [BASED(?)] games? - Not sure how to define this vibe. Based? Chauvinist? Romantic? Glorious?

In the greatest fictional works of mankind, there is some hard-to-define 'je ne sais quoi' you'd almost be guaranteed to see. What I think it boils down to is GLORY; barely any games have this kind of vibe. It's traditionalism-adjecent as a concept I think. It boils down to fighting with conviction for righteousness, revering the past and preserving the good of the world for the future, and a strict lack of any subversive "oh, halfway through, it turns out the evil demons were actually da good guys all along" things. Though I notice the vibe in the games more by what it has than what it doesn't have.

I'm looking for those kinds of games, and something tells me others here are as well. I'll list some I've played like this, and hopefully we can share any games that we find to be Based/Glorious/ whatever ill-defined vibe I've identified. If you're confused now, I think you'll start to get it if you've played some examples.

There's undoubtedly hundreds more, these are just what I've played that I've found to have that vibe. Please share any others you think have the same kind of magic!

>includes Space Marine 2
>doesn't add the first one

Very fucking gay OP.

This is a tangent worthy of its own deep thot, but when people say “based”, I think what they are trying to convey is a very complex idea like “Arete”, pronounce like are-a-tee

… a concept in Ancient Greek thought that refers to "excellence" of any kind—especially a person or thing's "full realization of potential or inherent function."The term may also refer to excellence in "moral virtue”.

When someone gives high praise, and they say “based”, I think this is what they mean without knowing it.

I’ve only played a few of those games, but they are about heroism and other grand, theatrical ideals. Mere mortals going up against gods and god-like beings, enduring baleful pain to reach their goal, and becoming stronger along this journey. All aspects of arete, heroes realizing their true powerful potential.

Final Fantasy 16.

the context and subtext of the plot are unbelievably based, its about an Older Brother in Royal family doing everything in his power to try and save his little brother, his people, and his love interest, from Creepy faggots from other nations, and especially creepy Rootless Cosmopolitan Alien manipulators who have string pulled all nations on earth for their own interests.

getting more granular with the plot, its characters, and the themes, its incredibly masculine and a great role model for young men, Clive is the epitome of what you should strive to be.

I think Heroes of Might and Magic 3 definitely fits! The Heroes Chronicles campaigns too.

Edit: You know what? Songs of Conquest too. I have my gripes with the visual style, but I enjoyed the campaign stories. I think they did a good job of portraying each side as fighting for what they believe is right and just.

If you look for it there is a free modpack for Silent Hunter 3 called OneAlex that includes the base game files. If you want an autistically realistic WWII SubSim it is the top choice.

Otherwise just play Morrowind.

Games like I have no mouth and I must scream, stalker and old rainbow six games are based, based on books that is

I wouldn't say it's based, but if you want a game about glory, Brutal Legend would fit the bill; which is ironic, given that Tim Schafer and Jack Black are mega kikes. It's all about the main character fighting demons in the ancient past to protect the future of humanity and discovering his birthright. Plus its got some really good licensed metal music. The writing tends to be very reddit, so discretion is advised.
