I have to wonder if someone like fantano genuinely finds joy in music. Judging by his thumbnails, he records multiple days of reviews in one sitting, so he clearly crams new releases into all of his free time week after week. Music fatigue is very real.

On the other hand, I think he does at least listen to albums multiple times before reviewing them and makes the executive decision that he can't fill an entire video talking about some albums.

Edit: has he ever just taken a break? I review things casually on a few sites and couldn't imagine doing that without breaks.

His taste is so plebian I can hardly imagine he does. I think he is passoinate about a few bands and artists, but I don't think he actually cares about most of what he listens too. The "Internet's busiest music nerd" thing always seemed fake to me. I really do think he'd be happier if he could just listen to Death Grips and Brockhampton or whatever else than have to review these more popular releases he clearly doesn't actually care about. That might have been possible had he continued to persue more general content like he was doing with the ThatIsThePlan channel back before he cucked.
 
As much as I like to mock Baldtano here, he didn’t do anything wrong regarding Isaiah Rashad’s recent new album. He just seemed like he was trying to do the same thing other rappers have done baiting Fantano to disrespect “black” music, as if that is an actual genre of music because of only someone’s skin tone.

Either way, I’m not falling for the “I don’t like him, but he criticizes other people I don’t really like that much, so he must be cool” schtick.

Fantano's only mistake is he continues to panders to and thinks he will be accepted by woke twitter who think that a white man literally should not be able to have an opinion on black music. They believe that if you weren't brought up in the culture you should have zero say in it because you don't really get it. I don't even have to go into how broken this logic is. So unless you are praising the shit out of the black artist you need to shut your stupid white mouth and let a POC speak. Considering the most popular genre of music for the last 20+ years is rap and rap is an extremely black dominated genre he completely fucked himself.
 
If Fantano had continued to pander to the /mu/ crowd he really wouldn't be having any issues. Instead, he decided to turn on a significant portion of his audience to seek the validation of people who don't take him seriously to begin with, and only want total compliance. I'm sure he still makes decent revenue on his videos, but at the cost of constantly walking on eggshells? Nah, couldn't be me.
 
Fantano, if you had just left the Deathspell Omega review up none of this would have happened.

And the Peste Noire review. And the Sam Hyde interview. And the ThatIsThePlan channel...
