I feel like there is probably a more general thread this could go in. But idk where.

Anyway. He is being a pussy and clearly trying to rewrite the past. I watched him during the era he's talking about. He absolutely did seem to like odd future, and Tyler the creator.

I don't remember the comment sections being that crazy either. Just normal shit. Much less "posting swastikas because they knew my wife was black". Nigger what are you talking about?

And the whole topic the video about is dumb. Instead of freaking out when you find out Tyler the creator did edgy art and music.

You would hope people would realize looking at things the black and white modern lenses, of if someone says something offensive they are a bad person. They would realize oh, this artist that I liked said fucked up things (very openly) and they are still the same person. But I guess you would need to have some level of introspection. I'm not surprised. I just can't help but point out how dumb it is.

Back to fantano. He is obviously playing down his knowledge a bit, and trying to distance himself. Like when he brings up that Tyler wore a KKK outfit. I'm pretty sure that wasn't some obscure thing if you knew about him on the level he clearly did, you would have known about it.... But also he's fucking black?! Lmao as if that's him endorsing the KKK, or the black face thing. How can anyone pearl clutch over this. These people are so fucking shallow with what they care about.

Oh and my favorite quote from the video "especially as a white person"

Also wtf is he talking about. "I don't see him trying to get his fans to engage with black culture" how the fuck is that something he should be worrying about? Just let people listen to things they want to listen to. No one gives a fuck if someone doesn't want to listen to some nigger singer that you think is important.
>"especially as a white person"
>"I don't see him trying to get his fans to engage with black culture"

White people who are like this are pathetic. Funny enough, George W. Bush had the best phrase, It's the "soft bigotry of low expectations." Progressives/Liberals/Socialists have this mindset of where people of different race, background, or socioeconomic status are less capable than them; so they deserve White people's altruistic help to guide them along.

At a least a racist is honest with you, which is more respectable.

For context, Death Grips just announced they’re back to making new music with an album coming out real soon, and this is what YouTube’s music critic decides to spend his time putting on X.

I don't know if I'm correct or not, but this kind of behaviour is what I had already stereotyped Death Grips fans to be like.

. He's so bland now, and his reviews and tastes are very normie and mediocre at best. He has gone down hill big time. It all sort of reminds me of Anisa's husband to a small extent.
Bland is not the word I'd use to describe Fantano now. Smug, pandering and self righteous are better descriptors. He's desperate for approval from people who will never truly like him just like Idubbbz who had a shockingly similar "I was once edgy but now I am born again woke" arc but one far less humiliating then him. Coward is also very fitting.

Death Grips is known for being extremely elusive and evasive of their fans, and every time I read their comments I completely understand why.

About Kanye, those videos are so annoying. If you don't want to review the album, just make a post about it! It also annoys me that he'll do those videos Kanye but not for, say, a new Ryan Adams or Sun Kil Moon album.
I’d argue it’s even worse, because Kanye is a massive attention whore who is incredibly mentally ill. If you have listened to any Kanye song released from TLOP onward (and i love that album) or if you have just kept up with him at all over the past decade, you have realized this. He thrives on people like Fantano finger wagging him and raging at him for using ai to vocode his voice over Dave Blunts singing. If anything I’ve seen less and less people talking about Kanye, because they’re starting to catch onto the fact that he’s doing this purely for attention.

Yeah, I totally get that. I stopped listening to Kanye after Vultures 2, and even then, I did that out of pure curiosity. If we stop paying attention to him, hopefully he'll get some help. (Rainbow)

Fantano posted this video (archive below) about a week and half ago, chastising Taylor Swift for not sperging out at Trump for using one of her songs in an ICE ad, because 'when it comes to fighting this fascist dictatorship, surely we're all in this together.' Or something. He does a lot of presuming that she must disagree with Trump and must be as disgusted 'as we all are,' and puts her silence down to cowardice.

Apparently he got some pushback/cope from Swifties, because he posted this followup short today. Basically saying the same thing, with the same "fascist dictatorship" hand-wringing. To be fair, the Swifties coping at him are delusional, but so is he for thinking she's going to care about anything more than money and status. And that there's no possibility at all that Taylor (and a big chunk of the non-cope Swifties) has no problem with Trump or ICE.

Musicians needs to stop sperging about people they don't like using their music, whether it's ICE or a president or even a corporation. People are going to use your music regardless. It's best to just ignore it, or when asked about it, say "I don't agree with them" and move on. Is that too controversial an opinion?

Does this guy actually believe that Taylor has any agency over her own music? A guy who's spent the last 15 years as an independent music journalist still believes that TAYLOR SWIFT, a billionaire, who is currently one of the most famous musicians alive, has the ability to make public statements on her own accord and make the final decision on who uses her music?

This is like listening to a 40 year old man who still believes WWE is real and can't comprehend how The Rock and Steve Austin are actually friendly in real life. This is actually incredible to see from someone who fancies themselves an expert in the industry, holy shit Anthony is even dumber than I thought he was.

I think he wanted her to use her Xitter or something to "take a stand" and denounce Trump's usage of her music, more as a way of expressing displeasure rather than as an actually effective act (basically Fantano wants Swift to perform for him based on his own political opinions). Because, to be fair, most other artists who've had their music used in conservative political ads have done this, and Taylor did denounce Trump before, that one time. Fantano expects his artists to be artists (or what he thinks an artist is, which is more of a political activist who makes art sometimes), and not machines, completely forgetting that Taylor has already fully entrenched herself into being a machine. She has made her brand staunchly politically neutral, whereas the other musical artists he's comparing her actions to are whorish and kooky enough that conservatives were never going to buy into their brands anyway. Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo aren't fucking with their brand power to nearly the same extent that Taylor would be by telling Trump to fuck off.

So, yes, he has fallen for that "I'm a pop megastar, but I'm authentic" kayfabe, despite being someone who should know better. Imo, it's his political zeal overriding his sense of logic, because extreme leftism (or extreme politicism in general) is a cult and/or mental illness.

A melon who once claimed to not be interested in Internet streamer drama actually made this video where he thinks Asmongold and DDG have drama over who has the most money when comparing the two.

I did not watch it, but I have a strong opinion that he’s just going to pull a Hasan Piker and just complain about Asmongold and not about the fact that he’s covering Twitch streamers playing up the (one-sided) beef for views.

And here's Asmongold reacting to his video.
