Is it the same channel that did Nopie shows or a different one?
I've been noticing the AI sloppers have started to hit O&A now and keep getting recommendations for an "O&A Podcast" that is just clips of Bennington. The worst was today they did the famous bit of Pepper Hicks getting blacked out drunk and trying to piece together his night, but title it like "Opie and Anthony try to figure out Chris's night". I don't know how they think it will fool any one.

YouTube is now borderline unusable unless you already know which channel you are looking for and/or stick strictly to your subscribed channels.

The recommended videos are fucking unreal and I’m finding the same as you. As an aside, looking for a B-52 engineering video I watched a few years ago, I accidentally clicked the band B-52s ‘Roam’ music video for all of 5 seconds, and I’ve had endless fucking 90s music/mix playlists in my feed ever since. Yet in the last few weeks I’ve watched God knows how many O&A videos, and not ONE single fucking related recommendation.

So, going through the archives of wow stickers for the different affiliates they were syndicated to, I would not have thought they shared their show with an all-sports station, probably during the Free FM era?.

Doing deeper dives through searches and Wayback Machine I can barely find any info regarding The Score & O&A, mostly lost due to time. I guess I found it a little bit intriguing.

The fact that the Israel-humping boomers and MAGA crowd Anthony Cumia panders to are alright with his tranny-related past makes me doubt that any of them even listened to O&A to begin with.

His milquetoast conservative era is boring from a content perspective, but deeply funny and amusing in the context of his whole story.

Looking over Wikipedia, The Score was based out of Rhode Island. It went through a lot of variations over the years, with it only becoming The Score in 2002 and lasting until 2008 when it became WEAN-FM. The company that owns it is Cumulus, which was the company that absorbed Citadel in 2011.

I can't find any info on when Opie and Anthony aired on it, but looking over Wikipedia it looks like that stations aired a few different adjacent syndicated programming from other stations. My guess is Opie and Anthony was one of them through a deal with either Citadel or CBS.

It might have been a promotional thing too, as Opie and Anthony would have been hosting the XFL pre-games around that time. Might have been trying to pivot into sports media from there.

It is interesting how most stations that had O&A on in the mornings were at most rock stations. (92.3 K-Rock WXRK, WKRK, WYSP) Sports station to me felt different, that you have this comedy show on top of... idk Patriots Football given its location to Boston/New England.
O&A simulcasted with both Citadel and CBS from 2006 to 2009. They replaced Hoo-Hoo when he moved to satellite.

And when CBS said "fuck all" with the hot talk they flipped most of their stations and or PDs or dropped O&A for "not fitting" with the stations they were on could ya really blame them? I want to believe most of the direction for how terrestrial radio was hitting the shitter before the decade was done was Opie blabbing his mouth for complaining about pussy PDs for being faggots with no balls, though it wasn't the case.

Terrestrial Hot Talk died when Hoo Hoo went to Sirius.

edit: Maine was the station where they had two stations simulcasting O&A, not Rhode Island.

Citadel owned 99.7 FM/790 AM, which they split with 99.7 FM turning into a simulcast of WPRO.

I think Citadel owned another station too but its target audience was female. To Citadel - whose CEO Farid Suleiman was close to O&A back when he was at Westwood One - it made sense to try to put O&A on 99.7 FM to have a sort of "guy's channel"

You can tell Anthony is getting butt hurt over people calling him out for not having kids yet and telling other people how to raise kids near the end of the clip. He went on a bizarre, off-topic rant defending never having kids by comparing fathers and mothers to pod people. You can tell Anthony regrets not having kids, like Opie did.

He's been making that "pod people" reference about parents for 15+ years at least. I was just listening to an old clip recently and he uses it.

It’s one of the few things he got right in life. No child deserves THAT as a father.
I don't think he regrets lacking a paternal role, but rather is envious of the status it confers. He and everyone else knows he's a manchild.

That is the real issue. He always mocked people who had kids on the air. He bitched non-stop about his brother and sister having kids because it meant they could never hang out with Anthony whenever he wanted them to do so.

It is only now when he blew through his entire fortune and has nothing else to fall back on is when he finally realizes how hollow the lifestyle he has led really is.
