I remember people did The and Anthony show on youtube, I wonder what the opposite would be. Would the Opie and show do as well?

Also, Anthony would have spent his life as a tin knocker if it weren’t for Opie putting his hand out and lifting him up. Even if you have gripes against the guy, even if your anger is justified, just remind yourself he did more good for you than bad and move the fuck on.

It’s not like Opie killed his kid or something. It’s a fucking radio show. Who fucking cares!

a huge part of that is how much the left regards themselves as being anti-GOP.

That means that when Trump became the face of the GOP instead of the Jeb/Mitt type of uptight, "no cursing or mocking anyone ever" style conservative suddenly lots of comedians that got famous from offensive comedy now went full 180 and demanded strict censorship of everything. the dirtbag left were able to thrive in trump's first term for basically being an easy medium to not being pro-trump but also not being what the left became.

the same way you have lots of Shane Gillis style guys on the "right" who are basically a center-right mirror of the center-left's dirtbag types. where outside of being allowed to make jokes that piss off the left they don't really care too much for the GOP's politics.

Patton and Sarah and many others on the left who catered to the types now into trump went full on troll's remorse and is why outside of hollywood they're fucking despised.

No one in comedy treats either of them well, especially Patton Oswalt for that stupid post apologizing for being seen with David Chapelle

people forget that the radio in those days was all about one-upping each other and Opie made sure they were kings of shock jocks. Stern was scared and if it weren't for getting canceled they would have replaced Stern outright. Stern's show died with Jackie, and Artie sucked.

There's some alternate universe where Gore wins, the XFL takes off and O&A don't get canceled in 2002 and Stern degrades so quickly that going to satellite is seen as a bitch move and he's now known as "like an earlier shitty version of O&A"

In that same universe Tough Crowd doesn't get canceled so O&A doesn't become a comics hang and Norton mostly fucks off.

Has he ever disclosed what he’s making on WABC or on McInnes’s site? censored.tv is a graveyard of flash in the pan personalities who went viral once a decade ago. I’d be surprised if there’s more than a couple thousand subscribers there and McInnes is the type to keep most of the money for himself and tosses a few shekels at the “talent.”

Cumia might be making $100-150k per year from WABC and censored.tv combined and that’s a big “might.”

i doubt he's making 6 figures, i can see him making half that, it has to be enough to keep his girlfriend payments up, but overall he's so old he probably is fine eating grocery store lunch meat every day, he's nana.
 
A little off topic here but someone posted video footage of Jim and Opie's fight from 2015. And holy shit this is some high school mean girl level shit going on here. I watched some of this and it amazes me how fucking faggoty Jim and Opie were to each other. If Patrice were alive he would call them both faggots and walk off the show after words.

Opie was slightly worse, I hate how he tries to come off coy and mysterious about this huge but vague sin Anthony committed (which was kind of alluded to years later). Any more "mysterious" and he'd be writing movies about time travel

Opie pretty much acted the way he sounded after listening to the audio after 9-10 years; he was a complete petty egomaniac. Jim was a bit annoying in this, too, but he was more than so hurt after realizing that Opie never considered him "close."
