Questionable. Patrice was still a sexual deviant. As soon as he started making money in comedy, he got into sex tourism. In my mind, if you're traveling to poor countries to pick up women, you're probably also trying to circumvent some laws. His favorite destination was Brazil, and they're the number 1 destination for tranny prostitutes outside of Asia.

Patrice could be funny occasionally but most of his appearances where him pontificating on how to "deal" with women like he wasn't paying for most of the sex he had whilst Von used his fame to fuel her shitty career as a wife of a "genius"/professional widow.

She didn't really care if he fucked any amount of hookers so long as she didn't have to spend too much time under all 400+ pounds of him.

He had a few good quick one-liners but if you go back and listen to the shows he was on they were just fucking boring for the most part.

Not defending sex tourism, but why spend hundreds of dollars on whores when you can fly to a poorer country and spend way less money on whores? Patrice made little comments here and there about women younger than him, but I never got the impression that jailbait was his bag. Anthony, on the other hand...
Patrice did prison time for a gang rape. I've only heard his side of the story and he swears up and down that the woman was just a whore that changed her mind after someone pressed her for a blowjob. Pretty sure that girl was underage.

Ant fucked a tranny and skirted age of consent laws but I'm pretty sure he didn't have to tell his new neighbors in NC that he's a registered sex offender.

Rich Vos at Comix Roadhouse Uncasville, CT Jan 25th tickets available at any 7-11 with the purchase of a large slurpee
Probably my favorite running gag of all time. It wasn't that long ago that I saw Vos tour dates posted on someone's public obituary.

Considering that he only did 3 months and this was Boston, I'm inclined to agree with his version of events. I'm also somewhat convinced that he got screwed since no one has come out of the woodworks to tarnish Patrice's legacy. People tried to scalp Aziz Ansari, but not Patrice? It's not a hill I'm willing to die on but, given the circumstances, I don't think it's an unreasonable position.

vos gets so much shit but i love the fact that the guy secretly kills it. look at those stand up bits he did in a starbucks and a diner.

It's hard to say. People can be selective about who they want to remember as a convicted/accused creep. Mike Tyson and Kobe Bryant have supporters who can successfully pressure anyone who brings up their rape cases, saying it's "uncalled for," even though both cases were way more credible than what happened to Ansari.

As I said, it's not a hill I'm going to die on because no one here can know for sure. However, Patrice wasn't much of a liar or even an embellisher. He also kept that story straight and no one has ever contradicted him.

you think they'd be in much better shape had they not fired anthony? i genuinely think that was the downfall of sirius. not even howard was interesting at that point.
Sirius was completely screwed - the only thing they could do was try and be the Howard Stern Channel.

The biggest downfall was creators didn't need Radio Technology to broadcast content anymore. Even before Anthony got fired, he was able to cheaply setup a video broadcast studio in his basement for not a lot of money - and this would go on to be the norm. There was 0 reason for anyone like Joe Rogan, Bill Burr, etc to do a "Radio" show when they can podcast from a home studio, on their own schedule, and keep all the profit/money/etc. It was an obsolete business model that they never were going to be able to fix (and haven't).

Most of the cost in broadcasting was the transmitter. Now everything is going through cables or cell towers.

Another thing that destroyed their relationship was the revelation that a lot of the online trolling that Opie suffered was at the direction of Anthony, whose activities are laid bare in Beige Frequency's documentary.

I think that was what Opie and Jim's first fight was all about, but Opie insisted on being vague and mysterious so nobody really knows

He was a juvenile when convicted at 17 so I don't imagine a lower sentence is impossible, but this was during a time when juvenile offenders were still getting tougher sentences before a series of Supreme Court cases forced leniency into juvenile criminal justice.

I like to imagine that his version had some truth in it because besides a lifetime ban on owning firearms, he didn't have to register as a sex offender (the law regulating sex offenders, the Adam Walsh act, is applied retroactively meaning Patrice would've had to register if he was classified as a Tier 2 offender) nor did his story ever change which is typically the case when being truthful. However its pretty documented he was a sex pest, had an addiction to sex, and was not shameful about it (although not as much as Jim). Unless anyone involved in that case chooses to one day speak up, I don't know what to think about it. Not that I have thought about it in detail

As much as Patrice talked about game and how well he claimed to know how women think, he didn’t end up doing any better with women than a typical fat guy who ends up with a single mother.

But he made Lisa Lampanelli cry on numerous occasions so he’s good in my book. The “Queen of Mean” who jokes about being fat and burning coal got rattled by Patrice regularly because he wasn’t impressed by her bullshit. There were rumors he apologized and maybe he did. Growing up she liked to call in frequently to the local morning zoo radio station I grew up at so I find what Patrice did to her especially hilarious.

The worst think I can think of that Opie did that wasn't his awful personality was him big dogging and trying to smother smaller radio show, particularly Ron and Fez. As a person though, I find him less hate-able than Anthony. Is he a passive aggressive, thin skinned, unfunny, narcissist? Yes. Did he get caught trying to hook up with a catfish pretending to be an underage girl? No.
