Gavin would be retarded rich right now if he just stopped being an edgy boy. He literally sold his third of Vice right before Disney or whatever bought it. He wouldn't have to shove dildos up his ass online for views if he just kept his mouth shut until after they sold vice.
Gavin 100%; but at least with Vice it was a weird art thing, also he was just doing conventional wisdom, Vice is literally the only one of those 2000s era cool blogs that actually achieved its goals of becoming a superstar brand. Gawker/xojane/villagevoice/etc. all ended up destroyed, even buzzfeed isn't what it used to be, same with huffpo. Its not Gavin's fault that he somehow ended up with the one brand that didn't end up failing. its like Brian Dunkleman and american idol, out of all the reality shows who would have thought the one built around mocking retards for the first quarter of the season and then becomes a schmaltzy music competition would become the biggest show in the US.
Having said that, Gavin's entire cumia association was a bad idea, and literally everyone told him exactly how the Proudboys would go. Gavin assumed it would just be a modern version of his antics in canada in the early 1990s. not realizing that skinheads and neo-nazis aren't just like a kooky group people don't really care about.
He basically deserved what happened to him with that. Literally all Gavin had to do in 2016 is not bother with Cumia and just start his own network, between that and not doing the proudboys shit he'd actually be successful.
Him joining Crowder's group with his GOML show was another case of him being too stupid to know what anyone with a brain knew would happen.
Honestly Cumia isn't doing that bad overall if you look at his whole life. Cumia was raised by a single mom and dropped out of high school and was always known as "joe's brother" until his radio career. He mooched off of Joe literally his whole life even his wife was Joe's sloppy seconds.
Cumia only started rolling in the dough once he got on XM. so basically he had 40 years of struggling and half of that spent dreaming about what he'd do if he got rich. So the decade he got he truely did live life to the fullest. If Cumia wasn't such a dipshit and decided to just do LFTC as a retirement show instead of trying to compete with Sirius like he did he'd be in better shape.
His cop friend fucked him into poverty. but overally Cumia's radio career was just him winning the lottery, yeah he burned through the money but no one expected anything out of him, the fact that he got his family some nice vacations out of it was great. Hell if he stayed married to his wife and had kids, they would have gotten an amazing childhood.
Gavin meanwhile only really started having kids around the time he fucked himself with Vice, even his post vice career, he clearly didn't do what would be best for his wife and kids. Not even just with spreading his politics, he openly partied and drank himself silly for people's entertainment despite it fucking his relationship up. Just in general Gavin's a terrible father, his kids 100% will grow up hating him. he's too infamous and theres too many lies about his past now that will fuck him. even his past vice articles won't exactly stand the test of time. beyond that whatever they'll learn at college in their history classes, Gavin being king of the proudboys will taint him.
the fact that he openly abandoned Cumia for the paycheck with Crowder, despite him doing the whole "mah integrity" earlier on shows how bad things have gotten. The only really good thing you can say about Gavin is that him and the whole alt-light's failings and how infamous their failings are should be used as a crudgel to make sure no one else tries that middle of the road faggotry.
Its either all-in or all-out, the left will never let you be a normie con, or even a normie alternative. Meanwhile Cumia's only mistake is pissing off the wrong group of psychopaths and honestly Patrick Thomilson was god answering his prayers, once he entered the picture they abandoned him and his family or at least lessened the hate super hard. he's been allowed to have a life again.
