It was brought up multiple times over the years from what I remember. It was either that or Ant ending up a lonely, old man in a huge house. He is a single man in his 60s, and should have down-scaled long time ago. I doubt he is actually broke. Selling his McMansion alone should have given Anthony enough money to live rest of his life comfortably, and he can sell his studio too if need be. Ant talked about investments multiple times, so he probably still has some money stashed there and in retirement accounts.
