Norton, Patrice, Bobby, and most of the Cellar Crew would do sex tourism in various 3rd world countries and I'm sure Ladyboys and/or full trannies were a part of it (if not even grosser stuff). The only people who could body Norton for being a degenerate are people who are just that much further above him (like Colin, Burr, etc) and likely don't care about him on a personal level. It's also not socially acceptable to attack trans people openly.

The larger reality is that comedy is a rough job for relationships and is comprised of broken people. You spend a lot of time on the road and away from home and bored with cash - a prime target for hookers.

If he gets his feelings hurt, he's a far bigger bitch than Opie ever was. Especially because when he's good, he's much better than The Opester, there's no need to antagonize him. Keep the worm happy, most of those guys have known him for decades anyway. His fucking of men in dresses is nothing new to any of them.

For sure. He would have been better if he just guided the conversation better and took minimal calls. Been the straight man, but that requires thicker skin. He didn't need to be funny just more easy going.
 
Opie’s gift was he brought the meanness, and bullying to the show. So many of the best bits like jocktober were just opie being disgusted with someone, and then Jim and ant ripping the target to pieces.
