I've been playing the PC version since the 15th and i am having fun..i mean i have low standards so that's not much but i'm having to play the game windowed on the lowest settings just to get stuff to load in within 10 seconds. I don't care at all about the story or the multiplayer stuff i just like flying around blowing shit up..that's when shit actually loads in.

Plenty of times i've reached an objective and i'm taking damage for a whole minute from invisible enemies because the models haven't loaded in yet...i can't even play with the sound on because of a dumb issue where the sound gets stuck on a single frame. I'm just hoping that the day one patch fixes at least the invisible enemies and sound issues.

Not hopeful but a man can dream..

With Apex Legends burying everything, The Division 2 releasing in a month and the launch drawing no hype I won't be shocked if we're done hearing about it 2 weeks from now, and then maybe once again at the end of March when EA's fiscal year ends.

What I'm intensely curious about is its sales. EA is expecting 6 million copies by the end of March.
There’s a mountain of good shit coming out in March. That probably isn’t happening.

I can't wait to see mountains of copies of this game going into Goodwill along with the Mass Effect Andromeda and Star Wars Battlefronts.

Remember when Andromeda was on sale for $30 within a year of its release? How about when Fallout 76 was 30% off within a few weeks of it dropping?

Get ready for that record to be broken.

Serious question - how woke is Anthem? Is it only a bit woke, like DA:O or ME1 and ME2, or is it full pants-on-partly-shaved-head Tumblrina like Inquisition?

From what I've seen of the cutscenes, it's Ubisoft-woke where 90% of the characters are minorities/women but are so generic and sanitary they have no discernible personality and are immediately forgotten.

Yong Yea talks about how bad the main quest is structured. Apparently there's a "wall" where you need to grind in-order to progress in the campaign. Some of which can take hours to do. It's really puzzling that this game was in development for so long and nobody thought this was a bad idea.

Outer Worlds is the main thing I'm looking forward to. Then when Cyberpunk 2077 arrives in the autumn/winter it'll be all ogre for Biowaste.

I'd really love it if the new DA game came out against Cyberpunk. It would be a total fucking massacre.

There is literally a character in a video in this thread that is a strong black female with pants literally on her head.

Dragon Age 2 vs Witcher 2 shitposting on /v/ was the peak of that board for me. I enjoyed it even more than TORtanic.

What a shit game.

Not a chance. Cyberpunk is still set to come out this year, while DA4 is probably barely in preproduction right now, if it ever leaves that point with Anthem being the poison pill it looks like.

I think what DA4 has to worry about is that signs are pointing to the PS5 being announced in 2020 with The Last of Us 2 and Death Stranding as launch titles and the next Xbox sure to follow.

DA4 can't save Bioware anyway. Dragon Age was a promising franchise 10 years ago but EA/Bioware squandered the vast potential established by Origins. The only people who give a shit about it now are slavering dangerhairs obsessed with shitty fanfiction-grade gay romance plots.

Anyway the dialogue in Anthem is shit. It has the issues that dialogue in most of the new 'nerd' franchises have in that the dialogue and interactions sound like they were written by someone who's never left an office environment in their life. It's like an HR manager wrote out their understanding of human interaction gleaned from Modern Family and Netflix sci-fi. Just belt-sanded dialogue and nu-character.

To go off of that, from what I experienced in the demo the dialogue "options" aren't like picking between red or option blue, but choosing varying degrees of beige.

Mass Effect:
"Excuse me Captain Shepard, can I ask you for an interview?"
Answer A: Yes, please do.
Answer B: Not now, busy saving galaxy.
Answer C: How about I ram my fist down your throat and tickle your lungs?

Anthem:
"Golly Gee FREELANCER, can you help out?"
Answer A: Cointenly! I'd be deloighted!
Answer B: Oh I suppose I can, sure!
Answer C: THERE IS NO ANSWER C. HAVE ANOTHER LOADING SCREEN.

I have but I don't want to load it with 100+Gb of undiluted garbage. It's half the space, bro.

There is no reason for any game to be that big in 2019 unless there's literally hundreds of hours of content. I suspect bloat, filler, or shit data compression methods.
