Nearly done with Shigurui death frenzy. I'm on episode 10 and I might go to finish it tonight but man I LOVE this damn show since it scratched that gore itch for me.

However, can somebody explain the whole thing with Mie to me please? I'm still confused why she took the sword and went into hiding. Was it cause she was tired of being used as breeding stock or did it have something to do with Irako? I might give it another watch because i'm just confused.
Can't wait to see how the rest of the show will play out thought, and is the manga worth picking up when I finish the anime or nah? I still got jujutsu and demon slayer to pick up and read tbh.

Edit: Wrote the wrong episode fixed it

The dresses weird me out, not gonna lie. The bell-shaped skirts just throw me off and the fact that they all pretty much have that I think is sad (Zakuro seems to be the most unchanged?). The original Mew Mews had costumes that actually differed from each other and not just by color-scheme, and I really loved that about the costume designs.

So yeah, color me not a fan of the new costume designs. And I'm sad that the song played sounds like your typical idol song of the modern era. I feel like the OP is going to be no "My Sweetheart", which isn't a bad thing, but I fear it's not gonna be as memorable. *sighs*

EDIT: Fuck, I just realized I'm scared to know what Quiche, Tart, and Pie are gonna look like now.

Yeah those skirts are throwing me off, the rest of their redesigns aren't too bad though. Zakuro was always my favorite so I'm glad they mostly left her alone. Unlike with Sailor Moon Crystal I think the lighter/pastel color scheme actually works for this reboot.

Absolutely, there's some random subplots introduced towards the end that don't all get finished, but the main plotline goes exactly where it needed to. Also the art is great.

Finally something that's not isekai. Heion Sedai no Idaten-tachi just began airing today and it looks like an absolute feast of a show.

The one man she saw as worth a damn was presumed dead. She saw him as her last hope for happiness in the world and the one man who she could love. Funny how Seigen's still a lecher bastard. The story's just full of tragedy.

So does it go past the whole fujiki vs irako thing, or is it still that but with more subplots in the middle?

Also, not gonna lie when I saw everyone talking about the nipple scene in the things in manga that've disturbed you thread, I thought it was going to be more graphic? I thought the areola and nipple were going to come off not just the nub. But nope this damn anime managed to make me go "holy shit" with the whole well we "castrated Irako" part, but i'm pretty sure they said no we didn't do that and instead we just burnt lady Iku's breast instead, but either way still more disturbing than the nipple part itself.

Very very very late but "Law of Ueki" or "Shaman King" though the former is probably more fitting.
Ah man, Law Of Ueki was fucking retarded but so extremely entertaining and fun to watch. Didn't think I'd ever hear about it again, thought that was one of those shows only I ever watched lmao
I guess I'm looking for something dumb, focused heavily on combat, like tournaments or the cast trying to defeat a strong enemy
Black Clover is pretty much nonstop action, some crazy shit is always going on. Usually Shonen anime has down time between the action to set plot elements up but Black Clover throws this concept out the fucking window, sometimes to it's own detriment in the story-telling department but it never ceases to be entertaining and the battles are always fun. The dude who voices Asta in the Japanese dub screeches like a retard for a while which puts people off and makes them want to watch the English dub, I personally really dislike the dub so I'd recommend just sticking with subbed because it does get better, Japanese Asta gets way less annoying with time. Also, the first 13 episodes aren't all that great due to filler added for no reason at all so maybe look up a filler list so you can skip or just read the first volume of the manga. The filler killed the reception of this show when it first came out, even I myself dropped it but now it's one of my absolute favorite Shonen.

Also, Yu Yu Hakusho has a tournament almost every fucking arc and they're all great. The show does not start off as a battle Shonen but that's just the first 5 episodes that are a bit more slice-of-life esque before the first Tournament starts on episode 9. I can't recommend the dub enough for this anime, even people who hate dubs can't deny the one for this is 10/10.

I'm conflicted because I really like parts of the setting. Like the 3 way war between Yahweh+Angels, Demons, and Fallen Angels that results in Yahweh dying shortly after he releases a bunch of wildly overpowered not-mutant powers into the world. Or the favorite sport of demons being LARP Chess. Unfortunately in practice it's eechi gets infused into the plot too much like when Protagonist defeated Loki (or was it Odin?) after being powered up by god of breasts from another universe. Also suffers from the normal eechi problem where MCs cowardice in interacting with his waifus beggar's belief and you start to just feel contempt for the guy.

Ultimately, it's a kind of cool battle shonen that wastes 4/5ths of the screen time on jiggle physics.
Its a great show and one of my favorite anime. I religiously watched it and didnt regret a second of it.
