I keep reading that Berserk's author died, and some people say he never finished the story, is there a good place to stop reading or something? It'll break my heart to not have any closure if i get invested in it.

Also, i remember watching a couple episodes of Kill la Kill, enjoyed the action and fast pace but found some of the characters annoying, is there anything else similar to that or DBZ?

Berserk is a very character driven story. It is mainly about Guts and his journey. So for me, where it ends right now with the final chapter ever released is a fine stopping point for me. I feel satisfied.

It does not have an ending. So that is something to take into consideration of course.

Hunter x Hunter (2011) anime is similar to Dragon Ball Z. Just need to give Hunter x Hunter time to get going. Cause once it does. It is a great journey.

Gotta clarify i have watched most of DBZ lol, its almost a religion where i live, every single boy in school gathered at a friend's house to watch the Frieza episodes, havent watched in a while but i loved it as a kid

The girlfriend suggests Soul Eater, what do you guys think about that one?

The battles in Soul Eater were pretty intense and fast paced from what I remember, but I cannot recommend it because as much as I enjoyed the first half of the anime, I did not enjoy the second half nearly as much. Not sure about the manga or how that turned out, as I've never read it.

Can agree the first half of Soul Eater was better than the 2nd half.
The anime has an anime only ending which isn't bad, just weird but damn do the OP and ED's bring it. I heard the manga ended pretty well from what I recall.

I'd recommend death note, but it suffers from Soul Eater syndrome in the first half being better than the second anime wise. But god it's a classic.

In general, I find Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood to be the best introduction in general to anime/manga. At least for me. It is also one of my favorite anime with a great English dub. I introduced many people to anime with Brotherhood.

It might just be me but I wouldn't recommend brotherhood first since the first few episodes are kind of weak and almost feel like they expected you to have already watch the 2003 version or read the manga, but that's a minor point and I can see why people wouldn't want to watch 2003 or read the manga

As strange as it sounds and as much that I love it I don't think Monster is a good starter anime mainly due to its length and overall pacing. I swear when the damn Pluto anime finally comes outs that's gonna be my go to recommendation for a few people assuming its a good adaptation

I'll agree that the second half of Death Note wasn't nearly as good, but at I thought the manga's ending was awesome and very fitting for Light.
I just liked that Light totally forgot Ryuk wasn't on his side and that he died like a bitch on front of Matsuda and everyone.
 
Cowboy Bebop is the traditional "anime for people who don't like anime." There is a tranny partway through the series, though.
 
S-cry-ed and Gun x Sword are good, self-contained shounen anime, both only going for 26 episodes.
 
I should note we’re all suggesting action and shonen anime. There’s plenty of comedy/romance/slice-of-life/drama/horror/ect anime out there too if that’s more your thing.

Its also probably worth to note, if its a popular interest/hobby, there's a good chance of finding an anime/manga about it.

DBZ generally is a good entry point into anime and manga for many people.

For recommendations, I can recommend Death Note as it is a pretty good suspense and thriller story though it does get a bit weak after the 25th episode, but it is worth watching. It even has a really great dub and is one of those shows you can listen to in the background.

I'd also give some normie recommendations like with Brotherhood as someone else mentioned though the first 13 episodes have a bit of a rushed pace since there was another FMA anime that came out in 2003 which isn't nearly as good and gets very weird.

I can also recommend Cowboy Bebop as that is a standard for new anime fan introductions, and if you are interested in a fun horror action series I can recommend Hellsing Ultimate since it's only 10 hour-long episodes that is fun to watch.

On that note I'd recommend YuruCamp as the comfiest, most relaxing thing ever, even if camping isn't your thing (yet).

I wonder if it's one of those cases where it has bonuses for the gacha game cause I recall hearing that gacha game bonuses and concert lottery tickets for idol shows tend to help with boosting sales.

Like fishing!!!. Really liked Houkago Teibou Nisshi, its laid back and somehow informative.

But it cuts to the graduation kinda insinuating it was a hallucination or daydream. And they even mentioned a showdown between the English students over Eri which we never see, so that pissed off some viewers for it’s vagueness. Then we got those 2017 chapters of them as adults which answer nothing. Blackcriticguy expresses his disappointment plus spoilers


Plus older Harima looks like Roman Reigns
