the ending of the anime is some of the worst shit I've ever seen, outside of that the protagonist was even more of a simpy retard than usual, and every other female wanting his dick literally with no background or logic made it even worse. no idea why it is as popular as it is, all because of the tsun sister?

Each part has its strengths and weaknesses. Part 7 remains my favorite because pretty much everything about it works great (hurry up with the anime already, David), and part 4 is my second-favorite mainly because of its slice-of-life-but-with-Stand-users plot. I feel like if you treat it like Twin Peaks, it makes a bit more sense: "how will they beat Kira" and "who killed Laura Palmer" really aren't that important, they're just the starting points to hang a bunch of interesting character interactions on. I think that's why Jojo remains engaging decades later; every time Araki starts a new part, he keeps things fresh and changes up enough of the story structure to keep you interested.

I definitely advise picking up the manga once you're through the anime, mostly because there's no indication yet of when any more will get adapted. It took almost two years between the end of part 4's anime and the start of part 5's, and it's already been a year and a half since part 5 wrapped up. I know part 6 is basically nobody's favorite, but if the majesty that is Steel Ball Run is ever to be animated, we have to get through that first.

Part 7 is definitely the most well-rounded. Johnny's easily the best Jojo (I can entertain a debate of Johnny vs. Joseph but nobody else even comes close), Funny Valentine sits with Kira as the best Jojo villains, and Gyro is definitely on the high end of the companion tier list.

I've actually always really liked Part 6 despite it having a lot of dumb shit in it. The plot was nonsensical, the side villains and their stands were mostly really dumb (especially egregious after Part 5's excellent villain cast) and Pucci himself is like a C-tier big bad at best, but Jolyne, Foo Fighters and Weather Report kinda carried the part for me. I especially liked Stone Free, which was refreshing after the utter bullshit that was Gold Experience. During the fight with C-moon I totally saw the whole mobius strip thing coming from a mile away and I loved it, because I'm so used to Jojo fights being resolved with asspulls.

I've always seen Part 5 as Part 3 but better executed. They're both road trips with a large main cast where the gang fights two different groups of enemy stand users working for an evil guy with time-related powers, with a good chunk of the tension coming from the team trying to figure out how exactly said evil guy's stand works, ending with the Jojo gaining a powerup that directly counters said time-related stand ability. Oh, and they also have super bland protagonists, except I actually like Jotaro because he's just a massive autist while Giorno was just super bland and personalityless to me.

Not sure why, could be the excessive white spaces in the chapter, the fact that Iwaaki has dragged out less then 60 pages worth of manga over 6 months, or the obvious.

I just finished reading Girl’s Last Tour, and that was... something.

It reminded me a little of Kino’s Journey, and a little of the Gunslinger, and a little of the old Dr Seuss movies. It was a little melancholy, a little inspirational, and a little creepy in its surreal environments.

I don’t know if I liked it or not, but I’m glad I read it. There’s a couple other series I remember with a similar meditative feel.

It mainly comes down to 4 v 7 for most people (can't rate 8 until it's finished) and it's 4 for me. I liked how after 3 arcs of saving the world and epic battles all of a sudden it's this small cozy town and there's no real stakes for a while, just meeting and interacting with the various stand users like the chef and Rohan who was so much of a fun character he got his own spinoff and whose rivalry with Josuke was always entertaining. And then Jotaro shows up and Josuke has to fight rats with him then finally Joseph makes an appearance and we learn he's still a massive slimeball who cheated on his wife but now he's been regulated to taking care of an invisibaby. It's not til midway through you finally get to meet the big bad and this time he isn't a world-threatening vampire or rock man but simply a serial killer with a hand fetish who then has his own drama of trying to adapt to his new family while adapting a cat flower. Peak comfy.

I recently tried reading Blame and wow, was it not the right manga for me. Probably wasn't helped by the fact that the scans I was reading weren't the best quality. Around the time Toha Heavy Industries shows up, I had completely lost track of what was happening.

I wouldn’t really call Clannad a harem anime. I mean, yes, all the characters eventually fall for Tomoya, but it’s clear from the jump that Nagisa is the main romantic interest. He saves the other girls, but she’s the one who saves him.

Yeah, Key works aren't harems. The protagonist may have a lot of girls who like him, but they all know to bow out for the Best Girl whether the audience likes her or not. That's the thing about dating sims and their adaptations, unless the guy's explicitly dating/sleeping with all the girls on the same timeline, they're not harems.

Been on a real Tezuka binge lately. His mature stuff holds up so well that some of it puts what's out now to shame. His shorter manga like Alabaster and The Book of Human Insects are terrifying and wonderful, I can't say enough about them. Also watched all of the Dororo remake, it's different in some ways from the manga but I would say the ending is much more satisfying. Would recommend everything to people who want to see what else he did besides Astro Boy and the furry shit he hid in his drawer.

Even nominally PG things, like Ms. Kobayashi's Dragon Maids, attract deviants thanks to the younger dragon character that takes on a child's appearance. Oreimo and Eromanga Sensei are pure trash due to their plot literally being "not related by blood" and nothing else aside from romcom slice-of-life pablum and I say that as a guy who likes sweet romcom slice-of-life shit.
