I've been watching the Black Clover dub on Toonami, and it just got to the part where they're like "let's go train for six months so we can fight demons better." A friend of mine is caught up on the manga, and he told me that the training arc is filler (the manga skips the training and goes straight back to the plot), but the training arc is pretty ingenious, I have to admit. With the anime catching up to the manga even with the occasional filler episode, Tabata basically put in an excuse for the anime to have a good half year's filler. Once that's done, they'll have a fair amount of chapters to adapt when the plot kicks in again.
Hell, I wasn't even aware that there had been a number of filler episodes already. BC's filler is just as entertaining as the main story, so I never noticed. Kinda sucks having to wait for the plot again, but I'm not complaining too hard. It's still one of the best shonen series in recent years. Kinda wonder why Pierrot isn't taking the seasonal route like other shonen series have been doing lately (like MHA and Demon Slayer) so they could avoid filler altogether.
