My biggest "adapt this shoujo series" wish are Beauty Pop and Black Bird in all honesty. Like the latter won an award, how has it not gotten an adaptation yet? Or hell, how has Absolute Boyfriend not been considered? I just... hnnnngh. Skip Beat is more likely to get another season/adaptation than any of those, though.

Oh speaking of shoujo series, I should probably just stop procrastinating and check out MARS already. Been seeing it cropping up here and there, and the premise interests me, but I procrastinate on manga a lot because I honestly just prefer reading physical copies over the scanlations.

The new Digimon Adventure reboot is so bad. Everyone is already getting ultimate levels starting at episode 10 and some of the characters are even worse than their original counterparts. Also only Agumon and Gabumon get fancy stock evolution sequences.
That said I do give the series a lot of credit for

Lilymon’s debut in Episode 12.

Speaking of Digimon the fandom has its own version of Serebii Joe but far worse. I previously mentioned MarcFBR, the owner of With the Will who also runs the Digimon subreddit. I looked around the Digimon fandom some more and he is a bigger lolcow than I thought. Many people have shared stories of him banning and bullying others out of the fandom because they disagreed with him or said they didn’t like Tri. He also routinely shit talks other Digimon content creators like the owner of Wikimon.

I've also heard it's not a very LGBT-friendly forum, but I took it with a grain of salt since it was someone on Tumblr who brought it up (think it's the same chick who runs the Analyzing Adventure blog). If it is because of Marc, that's just the cherry on top of the whiny-ass faggot's reputation with the fandom.

It’s been a while since I read some Komi Can’t Communicate. I might need to get back into doing that since a new chapter came out recently.

Pace feels so quick compared with the original. Apparently the new reboot is gonna have like 66 episodes so I wonder how much they're gonna shove in later.

Also I honestly have to question just who this reboot was made for. I guess children are just that impatient nowadays that they're having to breeze through everything, but this is supposed to be a reboot, a.k.a., new shit for newcomers (the kids). This isn't another FMA:B scenario, this is meant to be starting anew, but with differences to make it more modern. If more adults than kids are watching this, this just further proves Toei only made this because they want your fucking money and they're going to continue sucking off Adventure and not do anything new. If they're already handing the DigiDestined their Crests to Digivolve their Digimon into Ultimates so early, the characters aren't learning jackshit about themselves. They better have a damn good explanation for all of this and do something mindblowing if this show indeed will have 66 episodes because they've already fucked themselves into a corner by bringing in powerful Digimon so early.

Questioning this gets your head bit off by Digimon fans, however. The ones getting mad at people for asking questions are the same folks who express how tired they are of the Adventure-pandering only to eat this shit up.

Even asking if watching the reboot is worth it on Reddit causes Marc to get extremely angry for some reason. In fact criticizing the Adventure pandering in general is enough to piss the fandom off.

At this point, making a Tamers sequel just isn't necessary anymore (and really, at this point I don't trust Toei with it anymore). Nah, might as well make a Frontier sequel instead to make these pissbabies sperg out even harder. :story:

Well, Jojo part 8 finally hit 100 chapters, and number 100 turned out to be a big one.
Coming off the revelation that Rock Humans start out insect-size and get abandoned in the forest before tricking wasps into taking them back into their hives, then tearing their way into the queen and living inside the queens for seventeen years (yes really), we get this bombshell at the end of the chapter:

If Araki is actually going to bring back Spin from part 7, I'm gonna be so excited. Also rip in pieces Mamezuku, you ended up being the Zeppeli of this part, though you're talking pretty well for having chunks blown out of your head and stomach.

I have a question in regards to Maison Ikkoku. Hanae does this dance with Japanese fans whenever she and the other tenants party in Godai's room but she is singing something. What exactly is it. It sounds like she's saying "A sawnda sawnda sawnda"

I heard something similar here

I've been watching it dubbed, but I'm assuming she's just singing/humming a drinking song. Other shows have drunk characters singing incoherently as well, but I think there's a common song they resort to in their drunken stupor.

Friendly reminder Akira is one of the best action thriller manga in existence, and Tetsuo is one of the best tragic villains EVER in manga.

I actually liked the movie way better than the manga, the story of the movie is chopped and vague but it leaves so much to the imagination that it was mesmerizing. When i finally read the manga, although i love it it kinda lost that particular charm for me. I even feel the manga drags out too much.

My favorite Otomo manga is Domu, that would make a really awesome animated movie.

Asonde

It's from "asobu"/"asubu" (probably minor regional differences) and means to enjoy oneself or to mess around.

I remember reading MARS back in middle school since the school library had it for some reason. Definitely one of those series that shouldn't have been there since it deals with some incredibly fucked concepts, but it was a great read. Haven't read it since then, probably still holds up though.

It reminds me that I'm probably due for a reread of A Cruel God Reigns since last time a read it was when it was first getting semi-frequent translations, would be nice to read it all at once. I think the title is counted more as a Josei but it's done by one of the "founding mothers" of Shoujo Moto Haigo so I think it kind of still counts. It's a really great read but can get pretty hard to stomach at times since it deals with the main character Jeremy being sexually abused by his stepfather and the lasting impact of no one believing him. I'm hoping it'll eventually get a release in English.

Her works do get released but with pretty small print runs it seems, I'm still pissed I missed some of the earlier releases and now they go for ridiculous amounts.
