Toonami being dumb reminds me to shill Taiga again if anyone wants to get into torrenting their anime and wants to make it even easier. It works amazing if you have an anilist/kitsu account, no idea if they fixed MAL support. Has some very nifty features:

I personally use it to keep track of which episode I'm on since I have trouble remembering on my own and download all my anime through its interface so I don't have to navigate to any sites myself. If you set it up to detect your anime folders you can also watch your desired episode of whatever anime you're watching with just some keyboard shortcuts, no need to dig around different folders. I don't know how it works with other media players, but it works perfect with mpv out of the box.

I also recently got a blast from the past seeing a manga I've been enjoying get licensed by Tokyopop, had no idea they've risen from the grave. Does anyone know their current quality? I still remember them not completing a lot of titles back in the day.

I've been hording physical copies because Warner media is going to fucking crack down hard big time on streaming sites and other shit that's not tied to HBO Max. Like when Nintendo nuked a gorillion emulation sites, but it's going to be worse because Warner Media is a much larger company.

Every torrent on Nyaa is gonna have copyright trolls on them from now on. Horriblesubs is gonna get nuked for sure. And it's gonna be a lot harder to release those remuxes where they put the best parts of every release into it. Any fansubbing teams left will resort to releasing the subs only, and you'll have to find the right raw and retime it yourself.

TFW you're childhood hero disappoints you so much you wish you never met him... remember that episode of aqua teen hunger force where Carl tossed out a poster of Bart Oates when he was being sold to San Francisco? Sums up my feelings perfectly.

Didnt adult Swim Screw over one of the show's voice actors who was African American?

Normies who like dubs do.
It's not that either tbh, all dubs "specifically" for Toonami are on Nyaa si some hours later anyway, & in HD too. In fact, I've seen twitter at Toonami hashtags & most people just sleep at the time of these episode, while just putting them on recording.

I myself download JoJo dub from Nyaa Si every Sunday (except when Toonami takes breaks, which it does, A LOT).

The ratio just keeps getting worse lol. I already contributed a dislike. They want to play this game? Brigade that bitch!
That's not really going to do anything, since that's a Toonami archive channel with no real ties to William Street.

The Akame Ga Kill sequel has kinda laid off on the super edgy horrifying shit for the most part. The worst you see is some nameless soldiers getting maimed in battle and the occasional minor character death. Then I caught up on the last couple chapters. It was obvious something like this was gonna happen but god damn that was unpleasant.

I gotta catch up on that, but I like Akame too much and it doesn't focus on her all that much. Plus the cure for the dude being a dragon.

Just finished Cardcaptor Sakura. I gotta say I really liked it. While it wasn't action filled like DBZ it still had some good fighting moments, characters, and development.

What I liked the most

The Cards themselves: Some of them had really neat designs. Though some of them were kind of copies of others. I think my favorite would be the Time Card. I also really liked the Dash card the Shadow.

Syaoran's development: He started out as Sakuras rival who only cared about talking the cards himself. As the series progresses he slowly becomes her friend and maybe more.

Eriol's story: After Sakura got all the cards there were still a lot of episodes left and I had no idea what they were going to do. At first it looked like after Yue won it was going to be about Sakura having to collect all the cards again. Thank God it wasn't, that would have upset me. It was a nice change after focusing on the same thing for a while.

Touya giving his powers to save Yukito/Yue: Yukito/Yue was losing his power and was close to disappearing. Touya gives up his powers to save him. While it's not really shown they seem to have confessed their feelings for each other. They're both well written gay characters. Most are in your face making it annoying. I liked these two though.

Sakura's and Syaorans relationship: This was really cute. They relationship was very much you would see out of people this age. They went from rivals teasing each other to friends helping each other to confessing their feelings. The part's where Syaoran called out Sakuras name the first time and the ending of the last episode made me smile.

Meling: I think I thought I would hate her at first but she grew on me. I was sad to see her go when she did.

The music: I loved all the openings and music. My favorite opening would probably be season 3 and my favorite credits would be season 1. The in snow music is nice too. Gets you in the mood.

The animation: While it's not the best it's still pretty at times. I've seen better and I've seen worse.

Sakuras development: She went from someone who didn't want to be involved at all to promising to get all the cards and save the world. I was happy to see her become more brave, confident, and stay true to her word. I was rooting her for the entire way.

The overall story. I was involved the whole way. From capturing the Clow Cards to Clow Reed. I wanted to watch more and know how it was all going to end. I wanted to see what cards there were. What Keros true form was. How Yukito wouldn't disappear. How Sakura and Syaorans friendship would go from there. It all ended with a nice little ending.

What I didn't like

Tomoyo's obsession: I didn't hate Tomoyo, she's a good friend and character. I also don't mind if she likes Sakura. But she likes her a little too much. I mean a little too much. She's contently following her around telling her how cute she is. Filming her without her permission. Forcing her to wear outfits she's embarrassed by. She's very creepy ; and all of this is played for laughs. If it was a boy doing this, even a boy doing it to another boy it would probably be called out. There's a difference between likening someone and being a stacker. Tomoyo was nice and all but I wished they trimmed her love for Sakura.

Other weird relationship's. Sakuras father married her mother when he was a teacher in his 20s and she was a student at 16. That's creepy. At least they acknowledge it tough. In the mange there was a creepy relationship between Sakuras friend Rita and their teacher who's in his 30s. That is messed up. I know Japan has different customs but still. At least in the anime it's one-sided with only Rita liking him. Meling says she's engaged to Syaoran...they're cousins.... first cousins.

Repeated animation: There seems to be a lot of it. There were a couple times I wondered if I clicked the wrong episode because they started the same.

I still got to watch the movies though. Since I watched the Animax dub I'm not sure yet if those are the same. The animax dub is good. It's more true to the original source. I've still read the original Nelvana has better voices though. They had all three Ed's in that dub. I know Nelvana is from 2000, but I can't find when this one was dubbed. From what I read everyone said somewhere in the mid 2000s. I swear the kid who lies to Sakura all the time is voiced my Mandarks voice actor. They sound really like. I might watch the Nelvana dub one day to so I can see which I like more. I really liked the series though. Glad I watched it. Might have to see the Clear Card series at one point.

Your grievances were shared by the dubbers. It toned that down for Madison, with her mom, Samantha, being best friends with Natasha ("She was like a sister to me"; "I loved her more than any other friend") and Aiden so the two's relationship could become like high school/college sweethearts to avoid the "Natasha married her teacher" angle (though I think they ended up forgetting about this change later), similar to how they made the attempt to erase Tori's relationship with Ms. McKenzie. The only teacher-student romance they outright removed entirely was Rita's crush on her teacher by changing it to be a bit of a "fear/respect" angle.

Meilin's clingy crush on Li still remained in the dub, and she mentioned their families were rather close (in terms of training in the same martial arts under the same instructor) though I don't believe they said they're engaged. They gave her the last name "Rae" to try and tone down their blood-relation. Hilariously enough, Chelsea (Chiharu) and Zachary (Takashi) are written as cousins in the dub even though they're not actually related--all because she has a habit of throttling him. And yet they're actually a couple at the end of the day. Oops. :story:

Glad you liked it a lot, though. My favorite Clow Card is super hard to pin down in all honestly because I just love them, but I gravitate toward Arrow even though it appears only in the movie. Second fav has to be a three-way tie between Fight, Song, and Flower 'cause of their designs.

So I was watching Ghost in the Shell SAC the other week...it's a good series though I feel I may need to rewatch it at least once more. But...

I honestly couldn't stand the use of the term "Social Justice" near the end of The Laughing Man arc. It frankly aged horribly considering what that term means nowadays...really made it hard for me to stay invested at that point for me, for some reason.

Could just be the political climate though. Maybe it won't be so bad once things calm down, if they ever.

I miss this little nigga like you wouldn't believe it.

Somebody rich, please send a dump truck full of money to Madhouse's headquarters so that they can make season 3 already. Oh, and while you're in Japan please free Hideki Taniuchi, who is the brilliant composer of Kaiji and got arrested for bogus weed charges.

Thanks and Zawa Zawa!

She's actually got an important fight coming up. The main group just went down one heavily focused-on character too, so she might get focused on a little more. As for the dragon thing, the epilogue chapter for Akame Ga Kill implies she'll find a cure for him at some point during this new series. I wish they'd release an official translation for that epilogue cause the version most websites have is understandable but reads like a machine translation. The mangastream one is long gone.

DENJI YOU STUPID FUCKING ASS MOTHERFUCKER!

Akame Ga Kill! Is bitter sweet for me because the manga is SO MUCH BETTER than the anime which goes full edgelord and kills the entire cast except for Akame.

You can't blame him all that much, the dude has practically zero education and got duped by the first woman he met. Though in all honesty I'm just along for the ride.

Oh, I know. I still blame him for opening the door though. Control literally said she was gonna kill Power.

I think that's one of those things that won't seem as bad if and when the Woke Left fades further into irrelevance. At the absolute worst, it'll be seen like the "We'll have a gay old time!" line from Flintstones or something.

IIRC, most of the references to the term "Social Justice" prior to 2008 were meant as a reference to the original social justice missions and campaigns preached by the Roman Catholic Church and by Christian charity groups in the 19th Century and early 20th Century that advocated for helping the impoverished underclasses at a time when the poor were often literally starving and dying in the streets. A lot of later political movements, activists, and charity groups would use the term social justice in a manner similar to that original context.

The original "Progressive Party" faction of the Republican Party in the 1900's and guys like Teddy Roosevelt and William Howard Taft were influenced by the social justice movements of the 19th Century

When I was watching Ouran Host Club I had to constantly remind myself that this was based on a story written by a Japanese lady that's completely 100% separate from current year gender politics. Western media has put my woke radar on a hair trigger such that anything even remotely related to gender will provoke an immediate irrational response, even if I know full well it has nothing to do with 2020 wokeshit. Even then, whenever the subject came up in the show I'd always get the niggling thought in my mind that were this show dubbed by Funimation today the translation would've been heavily updated for Current Year(tm).

I'm rewatching rhe berserk anime And I just finished episode 25... Knowing that the eclipse is coming does not diminish its impact. Also started reading the manga and am at the Guardians of desire arc
