I don't even think this was Blum or even DeMarco's idea. I think this was from someone higher up at Williams Street or even Warner itself since I get this weird vibe that it was probably made and recorded or at the very least written and storyboarded back in June or July and I remember some Toonami-related BLM dicksucking back at the start of all this when every corporation was throwing their weight behind BLM whether they actually were woke or not. This might've been a rerun of a PSA from earlier in the summer but I could be wrong. I've not watched Toonami since May at the latest, tbh.

On an unrelated note, I'm still convinced that some of the companies like CD Projekt Red and a lot of the Japanese companies like Square and Capcom were more or less going through the motions to do the bare minimum of covering their own asses.

It's wrong on so many levels. There's the use of anime shows with cast that's significantly whiter than "evil" american shows.
There's the ignorance that the japanese aren't saints in how they depict black people or how their society is far more authoritarian and restricted by gender/ethnicity.
And finally shows like Naruto and Fire Brigade are race realist as hell, not really the kind of things you'd use to talk about how everyone is equal.

In what way? Race realist is certainly not anything remotely close to how I'd describe Naruto and even less so for Fire Brigade. I mean Fire Brigade for that matter just as an aside is the most ridiculously retarded and unnaturally acted show I have ever seen. It's all the bad aspects of Black Clover, Naruto, One Piece and Fairy Tail crammed together with garbage like Soul Eater.

I meant it as having characters genetics be a massive part of the power structure, much more than hard work. I probably could have used a better description than race realism...

I see, tho I would say that it's just not a race thing, but just genetics things. Tho I do get your point of hereditary power boosts (Naruto being son of God, Gon being the son of Ginn, Bleach has this too (I think?), etc.).But tbh, that's pretty normal irl. Like a man having strong immunity, then his children also have it, it also applies to bad things like cancer & genetic disorders.

I won't say it's a race thing, but just a hereditary thing.

I found a very entertaining manga called "Looking up to Magical Girls" about the main character being forced into playing the villain to her beloved magical girls but finds herself really enjoying it due to her Sadistic nature. Very much a series you read in the privacy of your own room due to the situations she gets the girls into. Arts very nice and I love the faces that Utena (MC) pulls off, lots of reaction image fodder.

While a lot of the series seems to focus on the fetish aspect, the plot is also fairly intriguing from what's been shown so far. Very interested in seeing where it goes.

Current plot seems to have shifted from constant fights against the magical girls to fighting fellow villains who've gone rogue and pissed Utena off. Really enjoying how absolutely fucked Utena is in the head, but I'm a sucker for MC that are like that.

If it hasn't been made clear yet, it's a yuri manga, so if you can't stand that you'll not enjoy this series. Would highly recommend for anyone that doesn't mind or enjoys Yuri to give it a shot, only around 16 chapters translated at the moment.

This just feels like blatant pandering yet of course Twitter is eating it up and talking about how emotional its gotten them because the cartoon man that hosts their anime block agrees with them politically.

This certainly feels like some faceless corporate asshole with a bone to pick, more than any one directly on the Toonami team, even though I don't have any doubt that their opinions on the matter are similar.

Look, I get it, racism bad and that's something that's unironically is true when it comes to all the legitimately horrible things that have happened. And criminal or not, what the cops did was a tad excessive. But fucking hell, this shit is only making things far worse than it already is in every regard. I'd even argue that it comes off as even more racist just by telling people "Everyone's not a racist, except for this particular race" and trying to sugarcoat it.

There's a reason why the Japanese don't give a shit about Americans and their licensers anymore and this is it. I can't wait until Toonami just up and dies, because between the low ratings and these stunts, I'm honestly surprised it hasn't been pulled off already. Are CN and [adult swim] really that desparate for programming despite being rerunning the same few episodes of TTG and Rick and Morty over and over again?

I actually like old TMNT and I thought this was funny, but it’s more of the fact that 4Kids managed to get dubbed anime characters from a different nation to show how USA is #1 in almost everything. :story:
