Just play the game. It even has decent visuals unlike when they cry and Fate.

I mean you can say that for Fate, but Steins;Gate got a decent adaption and VNs aren't to everyone's taste.

Yeah, but still the VN has the advantage of multiple routes. Though I understood Zero's anime was really bad.

Reading up on this, there's actually optimal ways to play since both connect since 0 isn't really a sequel. I've also heard you get the most out of 0 if you actually play 0.

The whole thing seems like a huge pain in the ass.

Here's the best order:

> Watch episode 1 to 24 ( Don’t watch EP 23B right now )

> Then watch Steins;Gate: Egoistic Poriomania (OVA/Episode 25)

>Watch the movie Steins;Gate Movie: Load Region of Déjà vu

>After finishing Season 1 in the above order, watch Episode 23B (aka Episode 23 Beta), in which story diverts to give rise to Season 2

>Steins;Gate 0 (Season 2)

Here's the best order to watch it:
Steins;Gate (2011) > Steins;Gate: Egoistic Poriomania > Steins;Gate: Load Region of Deja Vu > Steins;Gate Episode 23b > Steins;Gate 0 > Robotics;Notes

If you don’t mind reading Visual Novels; the best order is:
ChäoS;HEAd (VN) > Steins;Gate (VN) > Robotics;Notes (Anime) > ChäoS;Child (VN) > Steins;Gate 0 (VN).

I won’t recommend watching the ChäoS;HEAd and ChäoS;Child anime series as they don’t adapt their Visual Novels properly.

I've actually read the reverse way to enjoy it.

Watch episodes 1 - 22.

Watch Episode 23B

Watch Steins;Gate 0 to completion.

Finish watching everything else.

That's not untrue cause 23B is a division for S2 (S;G0) 24 & 25 could be watched afterwards. But it's easier to watch it normally.

I did buy the VN, but I'm gonna watch the anime first, since they complement each other. Also going to do it to get the 'full circle'.

I just to have it have a happier ending and it seems interesting.

Massive Spoilers for the series:

Steins;Gate actually starts a little late & around episode 8, will start to get really depressing. However, 24 & 25 are the happy ending side.

S;G0 is the 2nd side of a what-if 23B didn't end as it did, However, it is massively necessary to watch due to it being a massive plot point in 24th episode of the OG S;G. This is also why many fans recommend to watch it all & then watch 24 & 25th (Egoistic Poriomania) episode of OG S;G at the end when you're familiar with it all. It packs a better punch as a story closure that way.

I just watched it normally due to being lazy, but you can do it the recommended way you have too (the one where you watch 24 & 25th episode after you watch everything, that way it packs the better punch at closure I'd say.

Also, the movie's canonicity has always been a bit vague, but I'd recommend watching it, it's good. However, do it before 23B.

The voice work for the third Girls und panzer finale film has started. i just found out about gup from the rando image thread. its pretty fun, i see why people like it.

I just 'finished' Steins;Gate up to 23B and I'm on 0. I'm fucking loving how (major spoilers) just fucking depressing it is. I know people online complained that Okarin wasn't his happy self anymore, but he just watched his childhood friend get murdered probably hundreds of times and then he accidentally kills the woman he loves and then he just fucking breaks. Its great to see an anime protagonist who isn't immune to, you know, stress and psychological pain. Not to mention major PTSD.

Deca Dence went in completely different direction than I thought, and it's pretty amazing. Basically, the last bastion of humanity in the world is an IRL MMO for aliens, with the humans being unassuming PCs/NPCs. It's like the setup for a Trigger anime made by a talented studio who wanted to actually explore the "aliens" twist.

I speedread past this catching up to the thread and assumed it was a joke or something, but then I actually watched the episode and I was kinda shocked. They just casually revealed this in episode two, the absolute madmen.

Just want to let you guys know that A Kite should not have been a live action movie. I saw both the anime version and Mezzo Forte, and things like that would never get made by Hollywood in today’s cultural climate.

Mezzo Forte D.S.A also looks pretty interesting, but I think it should have just been an OVA, in my opinion. It still looks good for its time, though.

I mean it's by the same studio who gave us the Yojo Senki adaptation, so that's not surprising in the slightest.
