If it's another 13-episode anime, it's DOA. Nothing's saving it.
It depends on which direction the story is going to go. I hope it's not the type where the beginning and the climax are in decent pacing but suddenly the ending goes off the rails resolving everything in one episode.

God damnit. Irregular at Magic High's next season got delayed until October. Now I want to break something.

Minami-ke is a very under appreciated anime.
It reminds me of Non Non Biyori with the triangle mouths.

The difference between Chiaki Minami from Minami-ke and Renge Miyauchi from Non Non Biyori is that Chiaki actually can smile, she's just in a sullen mood most of the time, while Renge is usually happy but it seems that she has a deficit of mimetic facial muscle tissue around her mouth so her happy expression is what would be a shocked expression on most other anime characters. That's except for those one or two times that some in-betweener forgot and went off-model so we briefly do see Renge smiling normally for just a couple of frames.

Something I came across, from the December 1984 issue of My Anime, an interview with the mechanical designers for Megazone 23, accompanied by illustrations from Noboru Ishiguro and Haruhiko Mikimoto. Just in case you missed it -

- Walter Hill's Streets of Fire may have bombed in the US but it was huge in Japan and the influence of Streets of Fire on 1980s anime and videogames and creatives who made them can't be overstated.

I've never read a single page from Tokyo Ghoul in all my life, but apparently this one image of the main character finally getting it on with a girl was responsible for setting the entire fandom on fire, fujos in particular having gone full nuclear. Some anons posted screencaps of the fallout, making me really, really wish I was there to witness it (/a/ included for comparison).

It already happened in the manga, surprised it took this long to draw a reaction.

It was worse when it happened in the anime and he actually got her pregnant, it was amazing

Edit: for a little context iirc the west fandom was being fucking pricks to the mangaka because of ship wars, this one decide to not kowtow to them and denied their ship to fuck with them in plan "this is my manga and i fuck it the way i want it"

You mean a main character from an anime/manga actually has sex with their love interest? Say it ain't so. Also fujos BTFO'd lol. They're so fucking terrible.

Streets of Fire is an awesome movie and weirdly it kinda "feels" Japanese despite the very American theming and cast, you can see why it was a hit in Japan.

Walter Hill is a big of fan of Akira Kurosawa so that may explain it.

Streets of Fire
Streets of Rage

Makes sense

Streets of Fire
Streets of Rage

I'm not going to deny that that title is an obvious allusion to Streets of Fire which probably also influenced the game itself, but Streets of Rage is the "rest of the world" title for the game that was called Bare Knuckle in Japan.

Also consider how much influence there was in the first episode of the original Bubblegum Crisis - something the people making it admitted to, including the opening sequence being inspired by the opening scenes at Ellen Aim's concert where she sings "Nowhere Fast". Not a shot for shot recreation, a definite lack of rampaging killer robot in the original, but the homage is there.

anyone ever read ptsd radio? it's a horror manga about a curse on a city that's gone on since ancient japan, and a desecrated local deity that's at the center of it all. the stories are all super short but they build on each other and contributing to the overall atmosphere. one story that might seem pointless at first becomes gradually more fucked up in retrospect as you read more stories. reminds me of uzumaki a bit, but with threads and hairs instead of spirals. here's one that works as a standalone.

Hell I'm still waiting for the day the West finally figures out what the East did decades ago.

That Fujos are the absolute bottom feeders of fandom * worst then the thristy dude-bros they claim to hate * and deserve to be shit on.

My main problem with a lot of romance in anime is that at some point pretty much everyone knows the pairing (or at least the girls that have an actual shot) yet they'll still waste time implying romance with characters that have no chance in hell.

Its really fucking annoying, especially when you have 12 episodes and you already know. I think In/Spectre did romance pretty well. But that's the exception, not the rule. Its like 12 episodes of pussy-footing around and more than likely no pay off.

It's why the only harem anime I give a shit about is Highschool DXD * main protag is a perv who wants to drown in a sea of titty and proud of it and pretty much every girl is into him and okay with it * and even it pulled stupid shit for cheap drama.

Eh, I thought it was ok except he never gets laid. Ever. Even in the LN. So even harem anime suffers the same problem.
