Wouldn't surprise me if Netflix made that part of the deal in exchange for funding... I'll give this show another try I guess, but if the second episode doesn't blow me away, I'll just wait for the next iteration.

Edit:
So I looked up Sola Digital... Yeah, looking at this cover gives me infinite confidence in their skills.

And they also pissed over Appleseed, too. Goody, I get a 2 for 1 deal out of this studio...
They also did that CGI Ultraman series released last year.

I'm not really into Ultraman, but I guess it suffers from the same issues?

The thing with the animation aside, the plot of GitS2045 this far wasn't particularly good either. I already said, it barely makes any sense, but one core issue is that it changes the setting and many aspects of the show until I no longer recognize it anymore.

A big war happened, section 9 was dissolved and the Major, Batou, Ishikawa and Saito are hanging out in Palm Springs fighting terrorists and go shopping for beer, while Toguse is now some private investigator in Tokyio, who's divorced from his wife. That last part genuinely gets me salty. Togusa being a loving dad and husband is what grounds his character and acts as a counterweight to the professional mercenary types of Section 9. Changing that into a divorce feels mean spirited and lame (maybe it's my TFA/TLJ flashbacks, though)...

I just hope that this show goes back to being cyberpunk, even if I don't watch it. I don't want this show to forever change the genre of this IP into half-assed post-apocalyptic Mad Max wannabe bullshit.

What baffles me about the writing is that the ones responsible are veterans, one of which has been working on the original runs of SAC, so why does this suck so much all of a sudden?
Then again, maybe I am too harsh on the show, too. Maybe it catches its footing in the latter episodes...

Digital Frontier I think would've been a better choice especially after seeing Gantz:O, but the Sola Digital movies actually look great, and Appleseed Alpha looked better than Appleseed XIII despite the OVA's style trying to look a little closer to Ex Machina. It's something you have to see in motion to really get a good feel for it, still images can't do them justice.

The issue with the Netflix GitS is one: Netflix I'm sure did something that fucked production up, and two: the art-style didn't translate well to CGI, Polygon probably would've handled it better (and it looks more up their alley given their previous productions) but then people would've still bitched about it, too. They had to make do with what they could get, but the studio itself is not a bad studio.

I’m still salty about the animation quality of the Persona 5 anime, especially based off the fight scene from Daybreakers and the Balck Sun OP from the OVA.

Good news for any fellow scryed fans, looks like Sentai's license to it expired and Discotek got the rights. They announced yesterday that they'll be releasing the series on Blu-ray with both Japanese audio and the dub (which I hope is the original).

For anyone that hasn't seen the series, I highly recommend checking out the dubbed version as it's what made the series enjoyable. I originally tried watching it subbed but stopped due to boredom and only actually finished the show after trying the dub. Both the script writers and VA seemed to have a lot of fun with it, including moments like this or any time Crispin Freeman opened his mouth as Straight Cougar. It probably has one of the best final episodes I've ever seen and gives the audience exactly what it wanted throughout the entire series, one final fight between the two main characters (pictured in the tweet). Studio went completely overboard for it and used all new animation for things like them activating their powers rather than using old footage and it took up almost the entire last episodes runtime.

Also, the series opening is really good.

I'm going to watch BNA but I feel I should go in with low expectations given the writer for this since I feel like some alien shit is going to be involved in the second half.

Silly question, but there was a picture getting posted on here of a page straight out of a doujjn that showed a fox girl (or cat girl, can’t remember to be honest) on a casting couch getting asked about what her sex life is like.

Does anyone know what doujjn that is from, or at least the title of it? I think it was either posted on Random Pics or Gifs or Cursed Images.

I would rate you deviant, but I don't have T&H.

Fast forward to one day later, and I still have not found it.
I guess it will just be a mystery.

I've been watching Bofuri lately and I really like it. It's just a silly, feel-good show. I don't think I could watch multiple seasons of it, but it's been really enjoyable.
I also started watching Cautious Hero and Assassination Classroom yesterday. I feel the main characters in Cautious Hero could get really grating, but I see potential in the show so I'll keep watching it.
Assassination Classroom feels a little hokey and some of the main characters seem way too young and naive, but I think it's pretty well liked so I will stick with it a little while I guess?
Otome Game no Hametsu is on my list to watch, I think someone here recommended it.

I'm having a good time with it, though it does rely on the typical trope of the harem protagonist simply being too dense to notice anything so if that annoys you it's going to be a downside.

Does not feel good bros to find out a hentai that scarred me as a kid shares staff who were very much involved in non-explicit shows I really like. It's just their job but idk it makes me feel ill when the personal feelings behind that mix with my admiration for individual animators.

As dumb and over-the-top as some things got, I really can’t bring myself to dislike Naruto. Maybe because it was sort of my gateway anime or something, but I still enjoy it for what it was.

But not Boruto.

Naruto is overall a good shonen. The setup is neat, the characters are extremely memorable and the fight scenes aren't bad. As the time went it became overly convoluted and the morals it had completely vanished, but that's kinda the norm for media that is made over years. At least in my opinion, what Naruto done wrong never eclipsed what it done right.

Later naruto plot from what I heard a bit about seems more interesting to me than what early naruto was: preteens in an mspaint-green forest acting braggadocios/competitive

Watching the second half of BNA, its pretty good. There is a twist but it's not aliens (thanks god) and a lot of the plot elements in the anime goes together really well in a way that makes sense. It also doesn't go too much with "man bad, beast good".
It would likely suck, but I really want the anime to have a video game adaption where you play around as Michiru in the city doing sidequsets and interacting with the populace.

I just finished the second half of BNA. Overall I liked the show, but it felt a bit rushed by the end. Overall I feel it probably could have used some more episodes, perhaps even an extra set of 12. The various factions and intrigue about the mysteries of the world probably needed a few more twists and turns to keep things interesting especially with how mundane some of the revelations were. Like why they became beastmen in the first place was so simple that I figured it was going to be a fake out. Also the world building episodes were probably the best parts and there could have been far more of them without dragging as a lot of the side characters and other pieces of the world were underdeveloped, such as the criminal underworld of the city.
