I’m probably the only person in my family tree that has not read or watched Death Note yet.
What do you guys think about that?

And no, I don’t mean the Netflix version.

I remember loving it at first but let's just say the story takes a certain turn and it's never as good after that point.

Overall it's good but not one of my favorites, however it's certainly got a lot of nostalgia value by now as one of the most popular and most memed series from the mid to late aughts, I loved the recent one shot.

The one thing that can bring Hungarians, Romanians and Slovaks together is girls with dicks. Japan, bringer of world peace and lady dongs. Germans and Poles share a furry inclination.

And Alabama is somehow not into incest, this is truly clown world.

I may be late and gay, but here are some pics of the new Digimon anime thing they're gonna do
I read spoilers for Kizuna and it sounds even worse than Tri.

The whole “you have to separate with your partners when you grow up” concept is a huge load of bullshit. I know so many people want to epilogue retconned but this would be an awful way to do it.

The first episode of Princess Connect came as a pleasant surprise to quite a few people.

Then again, it's apparently the latest passion project under Cygames (the company responsible for many mobages on the market today, including Idolmaster and Granblue Fantasy), who will likely invest "fuck you" money into the anime regardless of whether or not it ends up a turkey. Furthermore, the show is helmed by the same director behind Konosuba's adaptation, meaning this may have more potential than you'd expect out of a mobage that has yet to leave the Eastern Hemisphere.

The main antagonist of the first arc in Princess connect re:dive is a literal abusive tranny throws tantrum because terf AI won’t grant him his wish. With the current political climate in western sphere, I think it is very hard to find a publisher ballsy enough to do it

Every Digimon fan knew this was total bullshit since there's no way to retcon that epilogue without coming off as a total jackass. Toei's been TRIying too hard to manipulate emotions, and only the most pussified of fans were going to cry over Kizuna. Like chances are if you cried during Tri, you were going to cry over Kizuna because you haven't learned a damn thing.

Yeah, it would be ironic then they would make Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune cousins again thanks to Funimation. :story:

Edit: The guys of Clownfish posted a vlog about this.

What's the likelihood of Japan bending the knee with everything being on fire right now? As far as I've seen, normies basically like 3 shows and don't constantly consume it. I know everyone is wary of this infection running into their hobby since comics were destroyed and vidya went 'lol no'.

Catious Hero has one of the most radical tonal shifts from episode 1 to episode 12 I think I’ve ever seen.

Cautious Hero is fucking amazing. The foreshadowing in the entire show is pretty fucking amazing. When you finally realize it was there the whole time, you're basically like 'Holy fucking shit'.

Fakku has released its own pornhub stats. Illuminating, apparently there is one thing most of the world can agree on.
I swear to God, Astolfo from the Fate series turned half the planet gay.
What the hell's going on with Bulgaria?
They're surrounded by unironic fags, degenerate weebs and worst of all - may God forgive me for saying this word - Turks.

[FFF] Akatsuki no Yona - 19 [BD][1080p-FLAC][B44311CF].mkv_snapshot_15.35_[2020.04.07_21.37.02].jpg

I went through my "Want to watch" backlog recently and binged a lot of Akatsuki no yona episodes. I'm not always into otome harems cause a lot of times the female protag and her harem are bland and boring, but I'm really enjoying this cast. I know "Sheltered weak princess is thrown into the outside world and becomes a warrior woman" is kinda cliche'd but I think the way it's handled here isn't too fast or too slow so it just feels like proper character development.

I wish I knew, aren't they afraid then putting a LGBT in each anime might become cliche?

There's always been a ton of LGBT people in anime. It just wasn't the focus. Well, considering a lot of anime uses Japan's 'no homo' for jokes and likes women lusting after women, I have no idea. A ton of anime is VERY Japanocentric so its hard for me to imagine them Westernizing it a lot. I can picture more shit 'joint' ventures, but its hard for me to imagine the entire industry being possessed.

Comics were an American thing, so that was easy to monopolize.

Vidya failed because its everywhere. You can't easily monopolize it.

Anime and Manga are distinctly Japanese that really only take Japanese taste into account a lot of the time, have a ton of Japanese cultural moores that even an avid watcher like me doesn't understand sometimes. Its cross appeal is basically still niche. Not only do you have to add all that together, subs are still superior. So you have to get used to a different cultural aspect to understand it, used to language and phrasing and cultural affectations. There's still a worry for me because corporations get erect for sanitizing entertainment, but its kind of hard for me to really visualize happening. Its one thing to capitalize on a domestic entertainment industry like comics which have actually very little penetration outside your home market vs. an entirely foreign medium of entertainment. And then there's the problem where if you take away the Japanese elements, you basically lose everything, because the appeal is that its different.

Its easy to grab control of something on your home turf, but how do you do that with something culturally foreign? Where most people still choose fansubs over subscription services? Where most 'normies' basically watch only three shows and don't read Manga? Once AoT ends, I mean, most Americans aren't used to the insane wait times for anime seasons. Even popular anime can have years between next seasons. Where everything is an easily digestible, yearly release schedule, anime is irregular and I don't really see that changing.

So I'm still worried about more bullshit infiltration, there's just a ton of barriers to doing it its hard for me to see it happening without massive financial losses. I know its a sensitive topic because people are tired of their hobbies becoming sanitized for public consumption, so its hard to balance reality vs. expectation.

Maybe it'll go back to the way it was back when the old family friendly devilman anime came out? Where the comic that only a niche following actually read is graphic, while the animation is completely sanitized, sort of the anime watching equivalent of handing someone an unplugged controller. Its not like any of them actually read much anyway, just look at the shitshow that was Interspecies reviewers.

They do it with gore and nudity already

vs. the uncensored anime

I always thought gore was sanitized because of how costly it would be to animate it without it looking like trash.
That and seeing someone scream out in pain while their organs ooze out doesn’t make good television for a lot of viewers. It’s different when it’s one frame in a manga versus a minute in an anime.

Guess I'm out of the loop with what's going on with the show but I sure didn't expect the entire season 2 of Jashin-chan dropkick to come out at once. It's unfortunate cause part of what I find enjoyable about seasonal anime is weekly episode talk with online communities. So yeah that's pretty much ruined now.
