Geno Studio is a lower-budget studio, so there's definitely a fair amount of quality issues with the Kamuy adaptation, CGI bears being the most obvious. It's a shame considering how good the manga looks, but I'm generally of the opinion that as long as the series has an engaging story, I'm willing to overlook some artistic flaws. Considering how much I enjoyed Kamuy's first two seasons, I'm looking forward to the third regardless.I never realized Golden Kamuy was announced for a third season months ago.

The studio for the adaptation better have learned from their previous choices and mistakes, because boy did they do the manga dirty. The cgi bear is still the stuff of legend, but everything else besides the voice-acting didn't seem to be on the up and up either. Even so, I want this to succeed because Golden Kamuy still needs more recognition.
Really though, this is just a good excuse to post only a few of the manga's many pop culture references (the translation team helpfully places a glossary at the end of each chapter for Ainu terminology and historical allusions):

...Actually, even that's just an excuse so I can inform the unfortunate that there currently is a really well-made collection of doujins where the main character Sugimoto is genderbent into a stacked tomboy and then shipped with his (her) male teammates.

Way too well-made...
What makes this especially bizarre is that Golden Kamuy has a reputation for its beefcakes and bara bait, meaning yaoi fans and fujos naturally go nuts for this series, yet the doujin author is in fact a BL artist who is apparently drawing Sugimoto(♀) having vigorous sex to break up the monotony of constantly making doujins about gay bumfucking. The irony of it all.
I've dumped a chapter back at Valentine's Day, but I want to continue shilling Kemono Jihen and get as many people suffering from chapter withdrawals as I am.

So anyway, an anime adaptation was announced back in December. Despite good reviews and a clearly passionate author (the dude regularly posts supplementary material and extra art on his Twitter), it's as if 90% of readers have been hexed to never discuss about it. I believe that once this anime comes through though...
People will start talking.View attachment 1159651View attachment 1159667View attachment 1159659View attachment 1159652View attachment 1159653View attachment 1159658View attachment 1159661View attachment 1159654View attachment 1159656View attachment 1159665View attachment 1159660View attachment 1159662View attachment 1159663View attachment 1159666View attachment 1159670View attachment 1159664
Unfortunately, no. Not even a PV came out, so we’re probably going to have to wait until the latter half of this year.I really hope the adaption does it well, is there any idea on which studio is adapting it?
I'm gonna cry mecha tears tonight. RIP.Inferno Cop's fucking dead.
Various news outlets have reported that at 9:00 a.m. on Monday that voice actor Junichi Gotou died due to a motorcycle accident. The incident occurred at the Shuto Metropolitan Expressway Haneda Line in the Ota ward of Tokyo. According to the Metropolitan Police investigating, Gotou collided into the sidewall while attempting to change lanes. He was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to the nearest hospital. He was 40 years old.
Gotou was born in Osaka city on October 4, 1979 and lived in Tokyo's Meguro ward. He was best known for his role as the titular character in Trigger's Inferno Cop, where he also reprised the role in Uchuu Patrol Luluco. He had worked on a variety of supporting acts throughout his career, including roles in the currently-airing Detective Conan, Ninja Slayer From Animation, and Tegamibachi. He also worked in live-action and was featured in the Japanese dub of the Korean drama Winter Sonata.
so this is getting an adaptation.

Tower of God Anime Debuts as Crunchyroll Original April 1
Crunchyroll just announced the first eight titles in the inaugural slate of Crunchyroll Originals, including the hotly-anticipated anime adaptation of SIU's WEBTOON series Tower of God. Produwww.crunchyroll.com
In other news, Netflix just unloaded all their shekels and hired a bunch of people on japan including CLAMP to make original exclusives for them, they are really crushing it just by getting CLAMP on board
Oof, just about everything CLAMP touches suffers. As long as they're just doing character designs, then whatever, but they're not really fit to working on anime, just art. Just gives them more of an excuse to not finish what they've put on-hold. Unless Netflix allows them to convert the rest of X to anime since the magazine it was originally published wussed out with CLAMP, but look what happened the two times they adapted the series. Third time might not be the charm.
dammit, I just got it out of my head.
I'm impressed by how good this 3D is imitating 2D when it comes to characters.
