Speakin of, I will now recommend Made in Abyss. A lighthearted and child friendly adventure series about lovable rapscallions descending down a mysterious chasm and all the good clean fun times they have with the friendly animals and other explorers down there.

Late to the party, but I just recently saw the latest Code Geass movie and just...jeeze. Is it more difficult to ask where to begin or end? Well how about we begin with the most important question : Whose idea was it to bait-and-switch the fanbase into watching a movie when they promised a whole season because holy crap that is some Disney Star Wars/No Man's Sky/FF15 marketing failure there. And to boot, I'm now just learning they had re-released modified versions of the previous 2 seasons that partially retcons a few things (in particular Shirley not dying if I'm not mistaken) that happened in the original. Why? Why would you do all that? I mean, I'm sure people's expectations regardless of what they would have done had they tried continuing from season 2 would have been that this was going to be some kind of vanity fanservice project which, for the most part, the movie was, but they didn't need to go through all this nonsense just to end up giving fans a movie(s) that retcons some of the things that came before. Doing that pretty much pisses away the good will to the fan base. Who honestly expected a continuation would have never made sense (not that the series itself did that much) anyway? They should have just promised and made an OVA or just a movie, not a freaking season only to give a movie that bears no resemblance to what they hyped up.

As for the movie itself, it's just...whatever. Have Lelouch be a badass mastermind one more time. That and some decent animation and music. That's about it. A few fanservice moments though not that much (I expected to see more of Jeremiah Gottwald). Certainly not enough to warrant having another adventure. What a complete waste.

But do watch Macross Plus or even R.O.D. the ova (not the series) among other things.

Mirai Nikki remains to this day one of my guilty pleasure animes. It has a lot of flaws, but I'd still consider it a solid 6/10. It could have, and should have, been genuinely amazing, but I still had fond memories with what we got.

I found the first opening to be pretty catchy. With the exception of Baby Metal, I usually absolutely detest the cutesy girl shtick that plagues Japanese music, but it works in this pretty well here as it compliments the creepy atmosphere - especially if you imagine Yuno singing the opening (<- which as a matter of fact becomes even more fucked up in hindsight when you finish the series).

Not to mention, some of the character songs were pretty dope as fuck.

1) Eh, the 2nd season of Code Geass wasn't that bad. At least it had an epic conclusion in season 2. The middle, however, with that world of C crap was really pushing it though, but I think I can see why you think things went downhill after season 1.

2) To be fair, I didn't see the anime series through and through although part of the reason for that is that what it didn't entice me to keep watching. The OVA had everything I could have asked for for a title I knew or cared nothing about before giving it a chance. The OVA was short, silly (but in a good way), fun, and to the point. The series (or at least what I saw of it) was the opposite.

Noir is my favorite anime. I reccomend it.
It's slow at times but it's pretty fucking epic and extremely underrated (it was pretty popular for ADV Films tho)
Mireille is queen and Shelley Calene-Black is the best part of that show.

Manga I would say Azumanga Daioh and Rose of Versailles.

But for real sir I would start with these first:
Boku no Pico
Boku no Sexual Harassment
Legend of the Blue Wolves
Legend of the Overfiend (Madonna loves it)
La Blue Girl

If you or anyone you know is considering suicide, watch Ikki Tousen. The stupidity will save your life.

I guess the 2nd season of Code Geass wasn't that bad, but it was a step down over the first season, the end of the first season seemed to be building towards a conclusion and then the start of season 2 basically hits the reset button and returns things to the status quo, I hate it when that happens.

Also I'd highly recommend you give R.O.D The TV a second chance, yes it's different than the OVA but different doesn't mean bad.

Yeah, but at least they didn't pull an Inuyasha. Jesus. I still remember my brother and I watching part of the show and liking it for the most part although we barely tolerated the standard dumb Shonen tropes in it, that is until, after the (2nd...I don't know) bout with Naraku when the Shikon...(yup I was right, shouldn't have even looked it up) jewel broke apart. We pretty much instantly jump ship after that, and I have no regrets doing so.

Oh, just in case any one was wondering, add Inuyasha to the list of anime's to skip. You can thank me later.

I'll admit it, I enjoy High School of the Dead unironically. As ridiculous as it can get, it's still fun in that edgy horror sort of way.

I still enjoy Inuyasha as well, despite its flaws. Part of that may be the nostalgia talking, though.

Dungeon Meshi is a pretty good manga. I'd also recommend Kusuriya no Hitorigoto and Act-age.

As far as animes go Girl's Last Tour, Ping Pong, the original Eureka Seven series, and as over rated as it is, the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya are all pretty decent shows that haven't been mentioned yet.

As someone whose knowledge of japanese history mostly comes from being into Touken ranbu this show ended up resonating with me way more than I expected.

I’ve really been enjoying the My Hero Acadamia spin-off manga called Illeagals/Vigilantes, depending on the translation. It’s seems to be wrapping up its final arc, and the most recent chapter has done some major shit.

The new ID:Invaded episode is brutal and you can be sure this plotline will end with the detective's daughter dying regardless by another serial killer (that killed her in real life and framed the Challenger) and his wife killing herself.

For as many faults the show had, the mayor aka 11th, was pure kino.

And finally: Minene > Yuno. Yuno it's true.

I like this show a lot. Its got 'Inception' and 'The Cell' vibes to it. No matter how you slice it, Sakaido is a tragic character who basically embraced the darkness after his wife and kid were murdered horrifically. I also like how he gets other prisoners to kill themselves by manipulating them from when he dives into their conciousness.

Couple of my personal favorites:
