I'm saying this, JoJo gets a DVD/Bluray release I am fucking buying it.

Edit: The more I watch SEED Destiny, the more I want to go back and rewatch SEED. I mean, SEED went to shit in it's final act (IMO), but I still really liked it until that point. Hell, as time passes (and the more I watch Destiny) it becomes more of a guilty pleasure for me.

Is that weird to anyone else? That a horrible sequel makes me like the original that much more. I hear people say that Destiny makes SEED retroactively a POS, but to me it's the opposite. I was kinda meh when I finished it, but now I can honestly say I liked it.

May start watching the English dub soon, since the HD Remasters was pulled from Gundam.Info.
What is a POS?

It really sucks that we have no information at all about the English Dub to Stardust Crusaders. I know it was a test dub, but it was actually really good, especially Richard Epcar as Joseph. The episodes were removed from Crunchyroll and never heard from again, besides some shady-looking anime sites.

Maybe with JoJo finally getting more popular in the West, we'll see an actual Dub come to fruition (preferably with Polnareff actually having a french accent), or better yet, they actually dub parts 1 & 2.

The biggest downside to the dub would be the name changes. Captain Dragon, Dan of Steel, Zenyatta and Mondatta, etc. Also, Matthew Mercer needs to work on his ORAs, because despite the fact I love the test dub, they were seriously lackluster.

I do appreciate that they still try to keep in a musical reference in the changed names. The Captain from Captain & Tenille's real name was Daryl Dragon, Centerfold was one of the J. Geils band's biggest hits, the Rose was one of Bette Midler's most popular songs, and Zenyatta Mondatta was a song by the Police (and also the name of a horse in part 7). At the very least they do try to put care in the name changes, except for Dan of Steel, That was just stupid. As long as they don't call Polnareff, "Eiffel" like they did in All Star Battle, I'll be fine

Also fun fact: It wasn't Matthew Mercer doing Star Platinum's ORAs, it was Patrick Seitz. In other words, DIO was in fact Star Platinum the whole time

If anyone want's a rundown of the latest JoJo episode:

Polnareff's /ss/ Adventure

Just rewatched Barefoot Gen and goddamn, the feels. It's similar to Grave of the Fireflies that it takes place during that time in Japan. Gen started as a manga by Keiji Nakazawa who survived the atomic bomb at Hiroshima. Honestly, I prefer Gen over GotF. Gen has more impact then the other movie. Something about Firefiles seems off then I watched it a secord time a few years ago. All of Barefoot Gen is on YouTube if anyone is interested in checking it out.

I couldn't finish Barefoot Gen. Too heavy on the depressing meter, especially reading about it on Wikipedia.

My main problem with these recycled voice actors is that they have such a limited range. Take Christopher Sabat, who did practically half the characters of Dragon Ball Z, and compare him to Todd Haberkorn.

This is also one of the issues I have with the Viz dub of Sailor Moon. Michelle Ruff's Luna is literally just her Rukia voice from Bleach. This isn't always a bad thing, but for some VAs, it's really jarring.

I have always found Chris Sabat voicing nearly every character Funimation has licensed. A few weeks ago a friend and I we joked about if Funimation ever buys the rights to the Yu-Gi-Oh franchise and redub Duel Monsters, GX 5Ds, etc. Chris Sabat will probably voice Yugi, Yami Yugi, Seto Kaiba and Jonouchi Katsuya (Joey Wheeler)

I like Michelle Ruff. I first heard her voice work in Great Teacher Onizuka as that blue-eyed, brown eyed blonde hair student.

Amazing! I really think that Goku's voice actor, Masako Nozawa should retire her role as Goku. I recently saw the trailer for the new DBZ movie and her voice is showing age. I'm not sure who would voice Goku in Japan, but my money is for Kappei Yamaguchi. Yamaguchi voices Inuyasha, Shinichi Kudo, Usopp, Ranma and L for those who are curious.

I didn't mean to say I dislike her. It's just that her voice for Luna doesn't fit at all, IMO. It also doesn't help that the only thing I hear is Rukia (whose voice I do like, mind you).

I just finished the first hundred episodes of Bleach. Is it worth it to keep going? So far, it's been pretty entertaining as far a Shonen shows are concerned.

The new movie comes out next month.

I think I'm gonna watch the previous one tomorrow.

If this quote from a panel is any indication...

Ah! I love my character, Kure-Ha. I love that part where she says, “So you want to know about the secret of my youth?” And everyone says, “We’re not asking that.” She says, “I am 133 years young.” I love that part because I want to live as long as she has and keep on doing Goku’s voice through those ages.
...that's not gonna happen any time soon.

Oh no. You misunderstood my response to you. I didn't mean to come off that I was attacking you or something. Sorry if it sounded like that.

She's still going to voice Goku no matter what? Good for her. Her quote really hit me in the feels just now.

I love Nozawa as Goku. I don't know what it is, I just do. I can't wait for that new movie, too.

Also, Berserk has really taken over a lot of my free time. It just keeps getting better and better.

EDIT: Has anyone watched Gunbuster? It's by the same guy who directed EVA, and has some great action scenes. I'm not big into the waifu game, but if I had to choose one, Noriko would take the cake.

Overall, the canon story of that show is alright throughout. Really good even at times. The filler bits get really boring though. I feel like you might be best off avoiding stuff like the Bount arc. It doesn't contribute anything to the story, can't change the status quo and it's really pretty boring. If I had to rewatch it, I'd probably skip the fillers alltogether. Generally though, it's probably worth continuing, even though I personally don't think it really gets better than the soul society arc. (in terms of story. The animation sees huge improvements later on)
