Are we talking Destiny bad? 'Cause I'm watching Destiny right now and it is just awful. I'm only 1/4 of the way through and I already have so much to say about how mishandled it is at this point.
 
@Kamen Rider Black RX, I wouldn't know because SEED and SEED Destiny are the only two Gundam series I haven't seen. That being said, Moon-Moon can be described as "Amish in a space station" so yes, it gets very bad.

[EDIT] And doesn't Destiny get worse around the halfway point?

Of course it does. It's much better than a 17 year old protagonist who looks like he's 30 because his father probably force fed him T pills and growth hormones at a young age. I'm talking about Jotaro Kujo

Episode 39, where Kira becomes the main character and Shinn becomes just a mook. Granted, I'm 13 episodes in Shinn has been drastically underused outside of combat. All the important character moments have been handed off to the old cast. Shinn just gets "I'm angry. I hate ORB. My family was killed" in very brief scenes.

Really, Athrun is the main character thus far with Cagalli as a close second.

Then it gets into my other major complaint, how it seems to be calling me out as a bad person. ORB is supposed to be the writer/director's idealized version of Japan. "ORB is a neutral nation that will not attack another nation or allow itself to be attacked (Expect some trade issues when the war is over). We allow anyone to live and reside here as long as they obey our laws (fine) and our ways (so what you're saying is if the population doesn't like how things are being run, they can either shut up or fuck off.)." Destiny seems to be taking complaints over how idealized they made it seem and put them into the mouths of complete assholes. " Oh, ORB would have issues living with the EA after the war? Well we'll just bully Cagalli into joining into the EA despite the EA having attacked ORB because it wouldn't join forces with them. ORB's leader put his ideals over the safety of his citizens? We'll make Shinn traumatized by it an a real asshole, then later a villain. See, you're a terrible person."

Never mind that it's apparently run by noble families, hence it's leader is an 18 year old girl. And this is supposedly a nation with elected officials. This is almost their CWCville.

You get me? I can accept Wing as dumb fun. I can make sense of Reconguista in G. I love G Gundam. After all that, Destiny fucking blows.

Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Jotaro's dad force fed him pills to make him smaller. I'm still trying to figure out why Giorno is so small when his father is the fusion of two 6'4'' giants.

He was defeated and force-fed a poison that was supposed to kill him. Somehow it doesn't kill him, instead, it reverts him to the physical age of an elementary school kid. Living with his childhood friend and her bumbling detective dad, he has to track down the assassins and take them down. While doing that, he also helps solve murders, thefts and other shit.

Unfortunately, not only did Funimation cancel the English dub, they also threatened to sue a group that was fansubbing the remaining episodes. The dub stopped at episode 90 while the show is actually still continuing past the 700's.

I've always have been a mystery-nut, and it's hard to find any mystery genre anime out there.

Yeah Assassination Classroom is one I intend to get into ASAP, all my weeb friends have been recommending it highly.

As far as shows I've finished recently, I can't believe I'd never seen Angel Beats before. My greatest weakness is love stories like that, and man there wasn't a dry eye in the house at the end. :)

Someone earlier in the thread asked for comedy and I was slightly upset that there was no mention of CROMARTIE!!! Come on guys Cromartie High School is amazing, I still quote it in every day life because that humor is timeless imo.
 
If you like Cromartie, may I suggest Gintama?

It's also really funny, the only downside is that there's like 400 episodes so it's quite a lot of catching up, haha.

Man I saw Gintama as a potential choice, but it looked honestly, uh...not my speed. :)

But if a Kiwi recommends it how bad can it be? I'll try it out. :)
 
Oh my fucking god, people have made a petition for Vic Mignogna to not be cast in Free! because he's "homophobic." :story: JFC, Tumblrites. Disliking yaoi =/= homophobic. Besides, these yaoi fantards are literally pushing their fantasies on something that has no canon gay characters in it. It is a sausage fest, though.
 
I just saw the English Dub to Assassination Classroom. It takes about a year for Attack on Titan to be dubbed and this gets dubbed 6 episodes in.

Anyways as for the dub itself: Meh, it's okay. I do like the voices for Nagisa and Koro-sensei. Although since Koro-sensei is voiced by Sonny Strait, I can't look at him right without hearing Maes Hughes from FMA. The worst voice by far is Karasuma's voice, it sounds like something out of Cromartie Highschool. Except while Cromartie's terrible dub complimented the show's comedy and made it better, it just comes off as annoying here. Everyone else's voices just range from passable-good. Overall I'm gonna stick with the sub for the rest of the show. I might check back on the dub on occasion to see how Irina and the Principal sound. And see to how they handle the "You are incredible in bed" scene
