They had a good run but maybe after 20+ years anime on Toonami/Adult Swim needs to be retired?

Obviously there's a lot of sentimental value but logically who really wants to watch anime on live US television where it has to be edited for content and you have to watch commercials? Time and technology has simply moved on I feel.
Hell, I could say the same thing for CN in general as they have similar issues, but yeah, It's pulling in low numbers, they're running out of shows to air, and even if censorship standards have changed since the early-mid 2000s, there's still a lot of things that can't be shown or done on TV.

I can't fathom seeing Toonami lasting past the early 2020s, sooner if this change in schedule turns out to be a bad one for them.

I'm very thankful for them for introducing a whole generation, me included, to anime, but anime fandom has moved on, today people are more likely to discover it through Crunchyroll or the internet in general.

A lot of memories and a lot of sentimental value so it'll still be a sad day if/when they retire it, but times change.

Japan still has shit taste in 2019, shocking.
It's actually the safest bet they can pull at this point (aside from cramming every single goddamn event into the One Year War). Gundam Seed is STILL immensely popular for its mecha designs and characters, and it kickstarted the Gundam franchise back to mainstream after Turn A. You could argue that the storyline is a fucking dumpster fire and no one should touch it with a beam saber, but it would be a good chance to expand upon the lore of the Cosmic Era without the main scriptwriter (who's dead) fucking everything up with her deranged fantasies or production issues forcing animators recycling Nicole's death scene for the millionth time.

I wonder if something's up with Toonami at the moment. It's not like they're trying to play things safe, but it almost looks like they're running out of viable modern options for the line-up. Why not re-rerun some older shows, Toonami? Just unable to regain those rights or something?

They don't think the audience is going to be interested.

That's always been the case. When they aired Lupin III on Adult Swim way back in 2003, you had a lot of people complaining about how old it was.

As long as it doesn't involve Jesus Yamato or any other of the fuckawful characters it shouldn't be too terrible. Still my hopes for anything SEED related not to be garbage are like my hopes of the light novel industry unfucking itself.

I remember that. It was always hard getting people into stuff like that if they knew.

Making anime mainstream was a mistake.
In some way, it was. Now we're stuck with so-called anime styles people go with and think that's all there is to it.

They should’ve adapted some of those Astray stories or manga stories into a series or movie.

I am pleasantly surprised. I thought Pokemon would've continued to beat that dead horse
I was expecting him to get it in Sinnoh- it took a guy with a team of legendaries to knock him out. Kalos was also very hopeful, but at least it was a "better" loss- Alain had much more experience with mega evolution and as a trainer in general. I was honestly expecting him to lose to either Guzma or Gladion in this one. This is a pleasant turn of events!

I wish Kalos had been the big win one since it was one of his strongest teams(and the animation for those final battles was awesome), but I’m glad they final gave him a win.
That whole thing with Rowlett in his battle against Hau was some bullshit though.

So they're already working on a TV series and manga for the upcoming Shin Sakura Wars game:

Couldn’t they just wait till the game is released and see if it’s a success before they start making a show?
Real Niggas make the anime years before the game comes out.

Didn't it manage to dodge a Z-Move by falling asleep/using Rest?

Yeah. And everyone thought Rowlett had been knocked out, and Hau was declared the winner by the referee, but then the Kahunas was like “nah man, he’s just asleep, look” and everyone went “oh damn. Alright, match back on!” And then Ash won.

It feels cheap.

I feel like there have been battles that this happened in before, though.

Ash Ketchum has finally won a Pokemon League tournament.

In Alola- the land of the half league. Thoughts?

Fucking hell, the Orange Islands League counts. People just refuse to acknowledge it because it's a "filler season". He also won the Battle Frontier, which is no easy feat. Ash is a skilled trainer who doesn't have to win everything, the Pokemon fandom is just filled with entitled brats. I'm thinking the writers just didn't want a repeat of the Kalos League debacle, fucking cowards.

Now are we ever going to meet his father? If he's won a League, he needs to meet his dad. It's like with the GS Ball, writers, the fandom doesn't forget the stupid shit you say.

EDIT:

Two words: Thunder Armor.

Agreed. He even had the offer to become a Frontier Brain. There's a theory that Giovanni is Ash's father. I wouldn't mind seeing that.

The problem is that the Orange Island League finale was a Glorified Gym Contest, as was Battle Frontier, Ash always got blueballed in the actual tournament arcs, usually for no good reason like Charizard cucking out or (as I am told) some stupid plot hax happening in Kalos.
