If some earrings on an anime character reminds you of imperial Japan, I suggest wrapping a rope around your neck, tying the other end to a branch, and jump. Clears up a lot of things.
Japan will never be Germany in this regard! If some earrings on an anime character reminds you of imperial Japan, I suggest wrapping a rope around your neck, tying the other end to a branch, and jump. Clears up a lot of things.

Yeah, they're friends.Isn't the other guy the one who made Evangelion?
Not surprising he's knowledgable about planes because it was his family's business.I always found it ironic that Miyazaki is a military otaku but who can blame him? Military shit is simply cool looking at the end of the day, it is what it is.
Goddammit, I saw him at a panel years ago. Dude was pretty fun along with Rita.Unfortunately I have to be the one to report that Robert Axelrod, voice of Lord Zedd on Power Rangers and a stalwart of anime dubbing going back to the 80s, has passed away.
He hadn't been doing very well this past year. Someone had to set up a GoFundMe so he could pay his medical bills. At least he isn't suffering anymore...
Damn imperialist earrings
The left-leaning Asahi Shimbun company also uses a rising sun motif but never gets called out. Gee, I wonder why.

Gehirn Web Services launched an iOS app called "Tokumu Kikan NERV Bōsai Apuri" (Secret Organization NERV Disaster Prevention App) on September 1, which is "Disaster Prevention Day" in Japan. The free app gives updates about natural disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis in real time and gives push notifications whenever the danger level in the user's area has increased. It racked up over 100,000 downloads in a single day, and the developer has announced plans to release an Android version in the coming days, although the date for its release is not finalized.
Anime fans may be aware of "NERV" as the special organization at the heart of the Neon Genesis Evangelion series that fights to defend the planet, but those who are really into their Eva lore may know that Gehirn was the organization that was NERV's predecessor. According to its website, the real-life Gehirn started up in 2010 and prides itself as a company that "makes Japan safer."
The app is an offshoot of the Twitter account "Tokumu Kikan NERV", which first launched in 2011 to provide disaster prevention information following the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. The account has over 760,000 followers at the time of this article's publication.
The app currently has a 4.9 rating on the app store, and reviews are positive. Hopefully, the real-life Nerv isn't caught up in any world-ending conspiracies as it works to protect Japan, one push notification at a time.
Update: A previous version of the article stated that the app received over 10,000 downloads. This has been updated to 100,000 downloads.
Implying Evangelion isn't a disaster alreadyThere's now an Evangelion themed app for Disaster Prevention:

It was on Adult Swim, yeah. I remember watching a few episodes of it.So, I was reminded of an anime I forgot about from 2002 called Witch Hunter Robin, which might have aired on Adult Swim, I can't remember, but if it did I never watched it.
It looks very 2002, which is appealing to me, is it worth watching?

Adult Swim and late night G4 were my go to for anime back in the day.I regret not watching it, I regret skipping any anime that aired on Adult Swim back in the day because it's not like I had anything better to do as a teen, but for whatever reason I was picky and there were some major ones they aired that I just didn't watch, most notably Wolf's Rain and Inuyasha.
