Manyuu Hikenchou has borderline hentai shorts as well and they are hilarious.
I feel satisfied when learning others have experienced the bakunyuu singularity.

Didn't Queen's Blade and Ikkitousen get new seasons recently?

Nope, i think Ikkitousen had one some years ago but i never heard of anyone praising it because low quality and stuff, if you want to see how relegated fanservice anime is just check the chart for this new season, only 1 fanservice anime and is in the tier of cracking dirty jokes at best

I looked it up and I was right, there was a new Ikki Tousen anime called Ikki Tousen: Western Wolves, however it was only a 3 part OVA, not a TV series, but it did release late last year and early this year.

You're right that fanservice anime isn't as popular as it used to be, but wasn't there actually a Japanese law that was passed forcing them to tone things down?

Thank you for representin' and reminding me of the show's existence, I had heard about it back in the day but had since basically forgotten all about it until you reminded me.

Lol no, Japan has tried like ... 3 times to censor themselves, even the UN tried to badmouth them but backpedaled when they noticed that great majority of the lewd content Japan produce is made by womans, and you don't want to be tagged with the M word in current year imarite?

Well, in which case it's probably just a trend that comes and goes, chances are the pendulum will swing back and it'll be popular again for a while one day.

Yeah, i expect that the Isekai fever just die already, but if you want to hunt for some weird anime, just check Netflix, they have stuff that doesnt appear in Anichart or is barely promoted by places like ANN (like B the Beginning and Ingress The Animation)

I've been meaning to check out B the Beginning, it sounds right up my alley.

Lol Netflix anime. Sword Gai was like the last straw for me, it's so fucking awful. I don't care if it's somehow a throwback to older anime in some form or another (I don't believe it, it just has an emo Kirito as the protagonist), that was shit, plain and simple. Same with Hero Mask, worst action anime with the most misleading name I've ever seen.

Hero Mask I could barely get through because they thought they should be inspired by Taken 2's constant "One cut every half-second" way of editing. I couldn't tell what the hell was going on during the first half of the series and just gave up.

B the Beginning has better editing, but it's a slog to get through after the first few episodes. You'd be better off watching the licensed stuff they have from Aniplex and Funimation than their own original co-productions with IG and Bones. Or just avoid it like the plague, either or.

I saw the new Sailor Moon movie trailer, it was okay I guess. On one hand I like the new style and think it’s the closest to the original 90’s yet (with some differences I can’t put my finger on, besides linework/colour). On the other, it’s a fucking PowerPoint. Where is the rest of it? Toei dragged out the 20th anniversary for so long we’re not even on the 25th but the 26th. Either they’re eternally lazy or their 4D chess grandmaster plan is to release works, wait 20-ish years for the original audience to grow up then drag out the anniversary merch promotions to empty their pockets for the rest of their lives.

I know Sailor Moon was unavailable internationally for a LONG time due to licensing issues and those other series got such garbage reboots. Why is Toei seemingly incompetent with how/when they release things even when these franchises are cash cows?

I honestly figured they had cancelled the movie, given the complete radio silence up until this point.

That said, I think it’s hilarious that they’ve completely given up on trying to recreate the manga’s style. It just didn’t transition well and Toei knew after all the backlash seasons one and two of Crystal got. They actually got the character designer for the 90’s anime, Kazuko Tadano, back. Also noteworthy is that they used Moonlight Densetsu in the trailer, not Moon Pride or New Moon.

But yeah, the movie won’t be anything amazing and there’s no excuse for why Toei took this long.

Crystal is a total embarrassment. I’m still amazed at how sloppy the first two seasons turned out, even Kotono Mitsuishi sounded terrible in her own role. Bringing back a character designer from the 90’s explains everything about the new style to me, I have nothing but praise for it and the people complaining about it must be whining because "when new reboot new style AGAIN" even when it’s an obvious improvement. I read a comment saying the new Chibiusa "looks too moe"? She’s drawn almost the same as she was during all the 90’s big budget episodes, I honestly see no difference besides minor things that make the new style look softer overall. Crystal Season 3 was a vast improvement but it looks like in a season of Precure. Speaking of, the OST is diet Precure af and Momoiro Clover Z sounds like nasally garbage to me, I would rather listen to 6 hours of Chinese opera because at least they’re supposed to sound like that.

Also I always thought the manga art was mediocre at best, Takeuchi has never been good at drawing bodies and I think she heavily relies on screen tones/other effects as a crutch.

...and inb4 nostalgia fag, I watched OG Sailor Moon in 2010.

That's because they got one of their designers/animators, Akira Takahashi, to do the designs instead.

Toei doesn't realize that releasing cash cows in other countries will make them more money than they already do. Hell, they even act this way with Transformers media (which they shouldn't since Toei only animated, not necessarily produced, them)
