Honestly, I liked the change of pace in the Farmland Saga arc.

Well, I gotta give it to that arc, it definitely had two great things come out of it in my humble opinion : Einar and good boy!Thorfinn. Einar is a really good man. I like him. Thorfinn needed a guy like him in his life. About Thorfinn however...Can I just say? The Thorfinn we have now is waaay more likable than the...Vengeful one? I thought that he was a little piece of shit. I know that it was the point, but still. Also, is it just me, or it is rather disturbing how so many people wish for this angry bloodthirsty Thorfinn to come back?

That being said, I just found that part of the manga really dragging out and slow. I was not feeling the entire thing. I really did not care about Ketil and co. Things finally started to shake up when Knud...I mean Canute came around, but otherwise it was a slugfest compared to what we used to have before. I know we cannot always have fighting and some parts of the manga HAS to be tamer, but it was just lame for me. I think the lack of a really powerful, charismatic figure made me think that way. Like I said, Einar is likeable, but he is nowhere near on the levels of coolness of cunning fox Askeladd or Thorkell-senpai. Those two make everything infinitely better. rip Askeladd

btw you never said your favourite character can i know

I can understand that people prefer the action of the first 50 or so chapters and want their hack-and-slash-heroics back, but I am very fond of the character development. Especially since Thorfinn vowing to never kill again is much more than just lip-service to what his father told him about fighting in the beginning.
Einar is a great addition and his friendship with Thorfinn works great.

Yeah, it was a lot slower, I have to admit, but I liked the change of pace and seeing aspects of the regular life of some people on a farm. I'm into history, so I enjoyed it for that depiction alone. I also liked how it introduced a few characters, the story with that slave woman and Einar and how the Farm gets caught up in political shenanigans. It seemed like it did well to establish how people are affected in general.

Oh, that's a hard question. I think I don't really dislike any character, so choosing is really hard.

I guess Bjorn and Askeladd and their friendship is something that I enjoyed a lot. Askeladd in particular. Thorkell is also always just too much fun when he's doing his shtick.
So I guess Askeladd, Bjorn, Thorkell and Thorfinn would be my absolute favorites. But they are closely followed by all the other characters.
Einar is a bro, I enjoy Gudrid being a bit shy and awkward, Hild is a pretty badass character (though I think it's a bit sad the author gave her some sort of super-crossbow), or that other, cowardly Thorfinn, even though he's more of a comic relief. Overall the connections and interactions between the characters really sells the story.

Come to think about it, I also enjoy Canute a lot, who goes from timid push-over to machiavelian schemer.

Hey on a scale of 1 to 10 how fucked up is this?

Also lol at this copy paste back pedaling.

I'm surprised she hasn't deleted the tweet yet. Regardless of whether you think somebody is an idiot or not, wishing sexual assault upon them is fucked up.

First Haberkorn, now this person... why do they think "I was sexually assaulted/raped too" is an excuse or proves they wouldn't do [insert sexual assault/rape related thing here]? A lot of pedophiles were molested as a child as well.

Jesus fucking Christ, how pathetic is the VA industry in the US?
Also, at this point the talk almost deserves its own thread, it is getting a little distracting tbh...

I absolutely agree that we should get a English VAs thread going because I've heard a lot through word of mouth that Winn Lee is a very eccentric individual as it is.

There actually was a thread about EN voice actors back in 2016 that also had stories about Vic being a creep, along with a few other voice actor stories.

The recent chapter was really great! Shinsou is officially in the hero course, we wont know if its A or B, but either way Im happy for the guy. He worked pretty hard for it.

And Monoma is going to see Eri chan! Im excited as to whats going to happen next.

I'm honestly not sure what the heck is going on with Vic, seems people are claiming the Anime Outsiders guys are just being blindly anti-sjw (since the sexual harassment thing is SJW bullshit much of the time) in the face of evidence, and people claiming he actually didn't do anything and it was bullshit.

It sounds like he just got a bit too close to some convention attendees to me, but I'm not sure.
He likes to hug people which is an Italian thing.

I forgot how much of a fucking sugar rush trip the Di Gi Charat franchise is, goddamn. Kind of a wonder most of this series ever got dubbed.

out of cutiosity, i decided to watch the first episode of megalo box to see if i liked it

i actually kinda liked it

I just learned Studio Deen animated Initial D Third Stage. No fucking way, I can't believe it, even with the time-period.

Found a making-of, though, which is cool. Posting it here so I can remember to watch it tomorrow, as well as for anyone who's interested.

Studio Deen also animated most of (maybe all?) of the You're Under Arrest anime franchise, the original OVA of which had nicely-animated automobile action drawn by hand. It's from 1994, the era just a few years before it was really practical for most anime studios to use CGI for moving cars.

The first made-for-TV episodes of You're Under Arrest came 2 years later. Since Studio Deen was on a tight schedule and budget compared to the OVAs, a lot of the driving scenes involved plenty of static pans.

Yeah, Deen did most of the franchise. The only exceptions were the PS1 game (which went to Gonzo's Digimation branch for cutscenes and Shaft for in-game illustration work) and some of the early digitally colored stuff like the No Mercy OVA and a few of the shorts and Season 2 episodes.
