So I actually interacted with Vic a number of years back.

Vic... dunno about him being a creeper, but dude was definitely a narcissist who let his voice acting career seriously get to his head. (To be fair, that's a lot of the voice acting community, not just him). He's also from back in the day when saying rando shit in the fandom wasn't followed by reeing, and fangirls would joke about rape on a quarterhourly basis, so I can easily see him saying inappropriate shit to people because that's what you did back when, and you got a pass because you were in this in group of animu fans, and literally their god because you worked in the industry.

The homophobia angle I do not buy - but I guess not liking yaoi in this day and age is killing teh gays or something.

So between narcissism and generally whackiness, lol RIP Vic.

I wonder if had Monty Oum knew of the Vic Sandals at the time before his death. Would he had killed him off in the main story or just be rolling in his grave that they are replacing Vic with some soundalike. Cause it should like the role and the character was made for Vic. Meh?

Monty was actually going to voice Qrow (Vic's character) before he died, and Vic was only hired after Monty had passed, so chances are unless Monty was on the con circuit enough to get the warnings, I doubt it.

So how do you think they'll acknowledge this in show? Kill off his character seems the most likely.

Recast with someone who sounds similar, they did this in Volume 3 with Mercury.

You know I think Rooster Teeth ultimately made the right call and just cut ties with Vic now, they can largely clean their hands of this and stay out of any ensuing drama storms since they can just say "We never had Vic in the RT offices, he recorded his lines from home and we did this upon hearing of his past behavior."

But I think the real scummy people are his other actors in Funimation who knew about his past and did nothing, and the executives who covered it up. The actors like Rial were too scared of losing their jobs in the event Vic took someone down with him and waited for everyone else to be talking about it so they wouldn't lose a paycheck. To me, that they likely knew for decades and did nothing because of a desire to avoid rocking the boat infuriates me. The same goes for the Funimation executives since if you believe the stories, the accusations have been going around since before 2003, meaning the company's had Vic knowingly on their payroll for over a decade and a half and only took umbrage with his behavior when he got caught.

I blame the executives, no doubt about it, but the actors... well, I kind of understand where they're coming from. Ironic, considering Funimation's titles are as far from family-friendly Christian faith as they possibly can. And seeing that Rick and Gen are (afaik) buddies, that might be one of the bigger reasons.

But I guess we may never know unless someone decides to out Fukunaga's business practices and begins blaming him for a lot of this stuff.

You don't get rich by doing voice acting even in Hollywood, so you can imagine what it's like if you're in Texas. Needless to say, in that position, you'd have to simply say nothing to keep your job.

I've been following these rumors for years now and stuff doesn't quite add up. I've seen fair amount of videos of him interacting with fans and yes while it can seem creepy on the surface, I don't think that's enough to ban him from everywhere. And I don't think we should automatically believe people who are lying for clout. People are seeing through this bullshit and know something's fishy.
