So I don't know what the hell this "Grand Tour" even is yet, but I'm starting to think "GT" should stand for "Godtier Trolling". I don't hate the show right now, Baby's not a bad idea for a Dragon Ball villain, but am I wrong for thinking that?
I've heard a Japanese person joke that GT stood for "Gomen nasai, Toriyama-sensei."

Same here. I love the idea of the consequences of using the Dragon Balls too quickly without letting them "vent" all the negative energy out will cause them to scatter across the universe, and if you receive them in time the Earth will be destroyed! . Well, I think that's the idea to the Black Star Dragon Balls in GT.

You can see I haven't watched GT. It looks okay, compared to the early sagas for Super; since they're repeats of the two latest DBZ movies. But the Tournament of Power has been fun so far. Even though it's expected to end around March!
The Black Star Dragonballs are the ones that scatter across the universe/blow up the planet after one year. Those are separate from the actual Dragonballs which, because the wishes on them were are good/selfless ones, created the Seven Shadow Dragons.

So too many good wishes on regular Dragonballs, the balls all turn into powerful evil beings; a wish on a second set of Dragonballs that are black, they scatter across the universe and must be collected in a year or the planet they were used on explodes.

So after watching the original Hellsing anime, I can safely assume this is my final reaction to it.

No wonder everyone highly recommends Ultimate over it. Figures.

So that latest Dragon Ball Super episode, huh? I’ll admit, I’ve only kinda keep up with it, but that last move in the fight was pretty damn badass looking.

Anyone have any suggestions for anime/manga similar to Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and/or Berserk? Finished reading both (except Jojo Part 8 since it isn't finished), and now I feel like life is severely lacking in both:

a) dudes with ghost powers doing fabulous shit
and
b) fucked up demon rape orgies

Edit: Preferably no hentai, despite option b) sounding very much like I'm looking for that.

I'm going to note that when he talks about the rumors about the scripts they were given being either lost or poor quality - that's not the rumor; that is the actual story. One of the translators for the show is on record as saying that despite the rumors that went around, they were sent scripts; poorly translated scripts, but scripts nonetheless.

It is refreshing, finally, to see someone who notes that the original Japanese show is very similar to its English version in humor; the English version translates the attitude of the show if not the jokes.
In other words, it's not quite as 'distant' as we think.

Okay, so is it like Berserk, where the raping is treated somewhat tastefully, or is it full on hentai where the show wants you to jerk off to it? If it's the latter, I'm probably going to avoid it. Also, just for clarity, option b) was (mostly) a joke... Just putting it out there.

It's been a few years since I've seen it, but if I remember right, it's basically an interesting idea disguised as torture porn that I'm pretty sure they expect you to jerk off to it because the majority of it involves lesbians. So probably a mixture of both. You can try out the first episode to see if it's to your liking.

Police girl ordering tomato juice in the bar, tells you all you need to know.
It doesnt even end properly. Whoever the fuck gave the okay for that adaption, needs to be assfucked.

As for gt, I honestly think it has better ideas than super, but the realization is poor.
Best thing about it is definitely normie vegeta.

Not really ghosts in it, but it has people with some kind of powers.
Parasyte maximum is the western name, I think. Dont remember the jap one.
The anime adaptation is quite recent, but the og story is from the 90es, so it has that raw 90ties feeling. I dont think it's very famous either. I didnt even know about it, till some months ago.

I'm curious as to how everyone here defines the term "Anime", if it includes only Japanese animation or if it can include Western-ish anime too, or if you live in Japan its simply slang for animation.

For me its a shorter way of saying "Japanimation", so those old old stop-motion cartoons they play every Christmas are technically anime (as they were animated in Japan).

If I was in Japan, "anime" would be a term I would use to refer to all animation, Western or Japanese.

But outside of Japan, "anime" is generally used to refer to animation made in Japan by Japanese companies for a Japanese audience, and nothing with outsourced animation actually counts - so the Rankin-Bass specials, nor the 90s Spider-Man cartoon, nor certain episodes of Animaniacs or Batman: TAS are not anime. They are Western cartoons animated in Japan.

Thats probably a better definition than mine, still, I do enjoy the shocked expressions I get when I mention where the Rankin Bass stuff was animated.

Just rewatched the original HunterxHunter anime. In 30 years the mangaka will die without him finishing it I just know it.
