There's a reason why Beast's Lair, the forum to discuss Type-Moon, has plummeted to just the gachafags: damn near everyone else left with only the most devoted fanboys and delusional faggots remaining.
Bummer. Haven't been there since Ataraxia was released.

he truly was a sacrifical hero saving us from the faggot e-clout farming "translators" who couldn't accomplish in ten years what paid "localizers" could do in one
Mahoyoru was an embarrassment. I can only assume that tying it to Commie was a troll to call dibs on it and nothing happened.
Good VN though. Not major like the other entries, but it ties aspects of them all together in some form. And I melt like butter hearing HanaKana's voice.

i'm just not interested in a background character at best in tsukihime

They were the first our little mushroom wrote. But they clearly weren't good enough, so they had to be reworked for years into something palatable. There's a reason Notes is still just an obscure booklet.
Still, I'm attached to the series like I am Dragon Ball. It's stupid, fun, frustrating, satisfying, and immensely gay all in one ribbon wrapped gift. Also Touko is a great waifu, Nasu has superb taste in that regard. No wonder she's in everything he touches- besides FGO, surprised he showed restraint there

Golden Kamuy's final season has been pretty kino; it's too bad so many people got filtered by the bear in season 1.
I thought that bear was hilarious but it had friends who were manga fans telling me to just read the manga, is the anime actually a good adaptation or should I still just read it at some point?

It's pretty good. I suspect it's better if you binge watch it, some of the seasons ended at really weird places in the middle of arcs and characters from several seasons past suddenly have bit parts later. I haven't read the manga though so I can't weigh on that angle.

Netflix's adaptation of part 6 really killed a lot of peoples hype.
Much as it pains me to say, that's not really netflix's fault, part 6 is just not that good and a pretty shitty note to close out the OG joestar era on. The gang has no chemistry, the main character isn't that intresting, the plot makes even less sense than usual and the location just sucks ass, nothing about it really works nor does it have an intresting gimmick or main draw.

Part 2 had the best joestar, funny, witty, proactive, full of energy (the most energetic of all jojo protagonists) and villains that are memed about to this day. It has a mix of comedy and drama with fantastic stakes and highly cinematic fights that are great even compared to everything that came after (like the hippodrome race imo).

Part 3 is the epic globetroting adventure with insane location and villain variety, that again has a clear goal, and clear stakes.

Part 4 is imo where the original jojo timeline peaked peaked. Mixes both good characters, a great protagonist, good chemistry between the gang, a fun location (though calling it a location does it a disservice, morioh is pretty much its own character) topped off with a compelling murder mystery and one of the most memorable antagonists of all time. It is by far the part with the most nail bitting tension that is juxtaposed really well with slice of life. Hell, I'm shocked more writers haven't tried to do the whole "Slice of life but a serial killer is in the background" because it works so well at establishing tension.

Part 5 is kinda weaker, more style over substance, but at least it has style. The locations are cool, and the gang members are all fun and have alright chemistry, I don't think its bad, but its definitely no as good as the other parts, since its mostly a series of boss fights leading to the final boss which is defeated with an even bigger asspull than usual. It least it has hype moments and aura.

Part 6 has nothing. The main characters are all planks of wood that barely get along (and not even in a fun way), and like 90% of the story takes place in a drab prison, the villain's is boring as shit and his motivation makes no sense, and it ends with all the characters dead, what is even the draw supposed to be here?

Part 6 was never going to get a good adaptation because its not a good story.

I read through Part 1 -6 last year, and though I don't agree with most things you have written about the series, Part 6 certainly felt like Araki went insane when coming up with the plot. It is unfortunately a shit story, though, to be fair, most JoJo stories are bad. No idea if he planned to reboot the series before writing Stone Ocean or wrote himself into a corner while coming up with random bullshit.

Jojo is a storytelling mess filled with bad writing, contradictions and plotholes that is held up by characters, chemistry, hype moments, and aura.

Ideally the characters should be writen first and the story should work around them, while sacrificing chemistry and charaters should be the last thing to ever go.

Unfortunately that's the first thing part 6 sacrifices.

That's a well put assessments of the strengths and weaknesses of JoJo's, you clearly have a better grasp at this than Araki during certain points in his career.

I think Stone Ocean had pretty good potential to emulate Diamond is Unbreakable, making it a slice of life in prison with a murder mystery. The characters and their motivations are not necessarily bad or missing, but obviously underdeveloped and underutilized.

Just out of curiosity, have you read SBR ? Worth reading ? I am sort of done with JoJo's, but reading through Parts 1-6 I always hoped that the next chapter/part would magically fix all the issues I have. I don't expect SBR to be different but still hope it is.

Between Jotaro's unceremonious demise and the hamfisted reset button it completely killed my investment. I got a little ways into part 7 and stopped reading altogether. Not to mention the increasingly grating character designs. I liked when the overly effeminate male characters were the exception and not the rule.

That's good to know. I'm a huge fan of DOGSRED so I was planning on reading golden kamuy at some point. Knowing the anime is in the final season made me watch it instead. It's funny seeing the humor in episode 2; it's what I've come too expect when I read dogsred.

I have not had the time to read anything past the OG timeline + I've been putting it off specifically because it is a new timeline so it may as well be starting a new manga, but I've heard nothing but good things about it, I can't recommend one way or another though because like I said I haven't read it myself.

I remember trying to get into Baki, but I couldn't make it past the art style.
Don't get into it. But that's part of the early charm, since it's a Serious martial arts manga written by a fucking martian who has never seen a human (and who frequently diverts into scientific lectures about some shit he made up). Twenty years down the line he still doesn't know the difference between right and left hands. The main character starts off looking perpetually stoned, this gradually gets worse until he's genuinely uncomfortable to look at.

So it's a good thing he's barely in it.

If any of this sounds entertaining, it's a trick. Don't fall for it. Nobody should read Baki.
It's not like Jojo where it sucks in a fun way and people pretend to like it ironically. Baki "fans" are genuinely bad people who live to spread misery.

I actually really like JJBA part 9
Araki is brave as hell for changing nothing about how he draws black people for 20 years now and initiating Act II with an indian tech support scam.

Imo if you survived jojolion you're being rewarded and it will be rewarded when the lava rock takes the gang to New Delhi.

Edit: Looks like thumbnailing doesnt work on thin images lol
