I hate how I can't get comfy and just watch some shounenslop anymore. Everything has to be so gay now.

Crunchyroll is to blame. I like how in the newest Digimon anime, everyone is a "they/them" thing, despite digis being literally gender-coded with clear men and women down to the name, and the characters being obvious boys and girls. Extra points if a dude is referred as a "they".

I finally sat down and watched Ghost in the Shell Arise, and it was awful. No idea how bad the CGI Netflix show is, might watch it just to hemorrhage some grey matter. Mildly optimistic about new adaptation coming out this summer.
I don't think Arise is that bad. It's forgettable, but I was okay I think. It was closer to the tone of the manga though, so if you didn't liked that one at all, you may really dislike the new adaptation.

And even despite all that Caster does 1% of the shit that every other character does in the series, and needs to constantly protect her avenues of charging it.
Because she's doing an on the fly job of it. She was summoned and killed her own master a few days before, she didn't have months or multiple years to prepare for this event like everyone else did.

No one else did in the original as well, Ilya had to suffer torturous training to control berserker. Rider had do suck the life of the school. Rin blew her fortune on stones to hold mana.

But in Strange Fake Archer has convenient 50000 dead bodies to fund mana using plot device devices and the other Archer has, out of nowhere, half minute sob story scene to justify despite being a super high maintenance servant that would need way more than 20 dead Magus to fund.

It's classic lazy storytelling. Might as well just say that in this grail war everyone has infinite mana.

Dog I'm gonna assume you're baiting because you're objectively wrong. Fake Archer, Gilgabuddy has the leylines of Snowfield (thanks to a blatant Pocahontas character) to empower him when he's already been stated in lore and interviews to be very mana efficient. That's why he's a top tier, he doesn't drain you dry like Herc or Karna. Bazdilot knew from the get go what servant he was going to summon and planned accordingly. Why you're so mad about it I don't get.

Jesus-fucking-Christ, I'm about to flip a table. My husband and I were talking about starting this show at some point.

Has some fansubber gone in to fix this shit yet? I'm finally about to rip the Nyaa band-aid off.

I think people are upset because it's different. I honestly don't get the doompilling. I'm having fun each episode. We're getting to see a grail war go nuts. I'm all for it.

I've been seeing increasing amounts of gay shit like this. I was holding out hope it would be at least another 10 years before it gets to this level but looks like I'll be needing to find a new hobby within the next few years at this rate
What new hobby, man? Is there anything that isn't being infected? Even the gun space is getting filled with freaks, it's insane.

Aren't fansub groups basically dead? All the "fansubs" I know of just rip the official subs and, at most, might clean them up or improve the typesetting some.

Watched Pluto last day.
Pretty good series, wish it got more attention.
Read the manga too if you can, although I'm not sure if the anime has any difference in comparison.

I'm lucky that I can read Spanish, so I can go with the still not-woke yet hispanic translators, but it seems many just copy-paste the official translation and call it a day.

Although I am of the opinion that the first movie ( second movie and SAC also) elevated the source material, I don't think that the issue lies with the manga. Arise is a fucking mess. Everything from the story, characters and pacing was just bad. The runtime certainly didn't help, but even if they had turned it into a 26 episode series, it wouldn't have worked. The entire thing felt like a disjointed mess. I still have to watch the additional two episodes and the new movie. But I suspect that those won't change my opinion much.

Speaking of crunchyshit, they "leaked" an entire new episode from Strange Fake, you can watch 7 right now...

Maybe if they spent less time worshipping nigger mukmuk speak and more time actually doing their jobs - these things wouldn't happen.

Oh, it's gonna be a good time.
I finally read Sidonia no Kishi last year. Fuck you Nihei, best girl lost and your story was shit.
What really struck me is how she out of the blue shows up paired with a formerly female character who got an offscreen sex change. I didn't dislike the show or the ending but it had quite a few oddities to it. It was more interesting than Kaine of the Great Snow Sea, I'll give it that.
