I cannot wait for Gil's victory to be stolen from him like it always is. The vampire showing up is one of the reasons why I'm liking this show, they seem to be throwing a lot of crazy shit at the wall and it's a more believable battle royal. Everyone seems to be breaking some rule.

And the priest wins big points for the coffee move. If he's actually a man of faith then he should be able to fight the vamp, and he should want to. Also, pretty sure the dude who made the OST for XenobladeX is on this one, so that explains why Saber's theme is so cool.
I wondered during the scene where the Priest was since while they hate mages, they absolutely go Total Vampire Death. It would be a huge plot hole if he doesn't immediately halt the whole thing and have every participant hunt the Vampire down like with Caster in Zero.

Vampires being immune to Noble Phantasm sounds pretty bullshit. Literally a big chunk of Noble Phantasms would be super effective against them BECAUSE they were used to kill monsters.

he's a different character each time he's shoehorned into something
He's multifaceted and flexible enough to fit the situation, and i love the gold retard for it.

My boi needs to win just once.

Oh, it is bullshit. Some rule nonsense where an NP in the hands of a human doesn't mean shit but an NP in the hands of a servant does. Ask Narita or Nasu, whoever made it up. Whatever the case, the chances of that happening are close to zero and almost entirely involve the characters in this scenario or Shirou, so it's irrelevant.

Its not a Narita anime without the cast roll call slideshow ending. I feel this is the difference between Strange Fake and other sakuga anime this season is the amount of intrigue being displayed through its madcap direction so you're never bored with what's being displayed on screen (Setenced to be a Hero) and it doesn't look like unrefined slop (Jujutsu Kaisen) so yeah after 2.5 years it's looking to be worth the wait.

Strange Fake is an unorthodox chaos world where the Human Order and the ??? are precisely as strong as each other, servants exist but can't fortify humanity, vampires are powerful but the Crimson Moon is not a convergent fate, and it can go either way.

Yuusha no Kuzu first episode is solid. Standard tropes but the "cynical adult and optimistic child" shtick is fun and has potential. The opening with recycled scenes looks cheap though.
Ok, done with Umamusume S1, Cyberpunk:Edgerunners is next. Not sure which manga to read, though.
Edgerunners greatest achievement is making the Cyberpunk game look appealing.

What do you mean? Blurry squiggles, no scale, and dissonance with the cg backgrounds is the peak of animation excellence! Just look at cowboy bebop, it's all fucked up anatomy and squiggles to denote fast and chaotic movement!..... oh wait...
Good animation in fight scenes, and well-choreographed action that doesn't make you sick/confused with what's going on or where, is a dying artform.

I recently tried playing the game, but was pretty unimpressed after the intro and uninstalled it afterwards. Maybe the show will change my mind. But I also didn't really know what else to watch. I mostly just pick something on a whim that I have on my to watch list.

i'm a big fan of the dozens of amateurly thrown punches that do jackshit in terms of damage
nothing gives off more impact than seeing a bunch of hits do absolutely nothing and both characters acting like they're accomplishing anything when they can still move, don't even flinch in pain, and are, at best, scuffed up a bit

spike getting hit so hard he nearly vomits and keels over for a bit is pussy shit bro
imagine recoiling a bit when you kick really hard into a solid steel beam

fights should be endless hollow slugmatches and fart clouds until either retard remembers they can nuke the planet or create one or some shit

since we were talking about strange fake

Fucking gott'em

Its honestly pretty blackpilling that zoom zooms generally can't distinct the difference between something thats well animated and choreographed to the spastic nonsense that gets excused as "peak fiction".

Then again I grew up on DBZ so this is probably just their own version of the same shit.

This nigger seriously gets hit so hard he spits out, immediately recovers, and gets a nice deep cut across his body that does fuck all to impede him from breaking his sword with a nudge of his foot
it's a modern fight, yeah

Say what you will about Fate Grand Clusterfuck but it was pretty interesting seeing his wiser, more learned post-epic incarnation. Almost an inversion of his old self, tempered and disciplined with occasional flashes of performative arrogance.

Been watching Pani Poni and its been fun.
SHAFT (the company that created the show) loves using this post-modern art style and surrealism in their shows, mixed with absurdist humor and moe which creates a weird experience. Main and side characters are fully detailed while the background cast are doll-like clones or sometimes have inanimate objects which replace their heads. Objects in the show are often represented with real life images. Strange and cute creatures accompany the main cast. Also aliens.
I think one of the biggest hallmarks of Shinbou's style is how much it draws from stage theater. Sometimes it's more abstract, like in Monogatari where you have 1-3 characters (crowds are abstracted, sometimes to the point of just being portrayed via background noise) talking in front of abstract, minimalist backdrops, other times it's more explicit, like in Tsukiyomi, where the settings are often shown as actual sets with visible timber framing and backstage crew walking around.

The thing is, this isn't even true. Dragon Ball Z's fights are all really well choreographed in the anime. My girlfriend and I were watching the fight against Frieza, and I was surprised that it wasn't the beam spam that memes made it out to be.

Cell vs Goku is still one of the best fights in the series.

Look at that. Goku is actually fucking taken back for a second from a single solidly landed punch and can't defend himself from a barrage until Cell changes from his right to his left, giving him the brief second he needs to regain his focus and evade.
Already, you have a greater exchange of blows than whatever the fuck happened in the manga with such a stupid name it was never translated to English.

Rewatching Z because I was introducing it to my girlfriend has really opened my eyes to A. How Dragon Ball fans have completely misrepresented Dragon Ball with the "Lmao laser beam spam" shit and B. How Toriyama and the others that worked on the manga or anime really knew their shit.
