I take it you've never watched Dune or Space Odyssey.
I absolutely did, but I didn't expect the show to suddenly segue into these themes, even if a desert planet with worms showed up*. Until the very end, the show was very grounded, and Chirico's past wasn't important.

*For what's worth, unlike Dune, the MC doesn't take over, but instead rejects divinity, even though the cure is worse than the disease.

You know remember Dream Eater Merry.

Thoughts on the show? I remember one of the villains(?) having a cool design

Thoughts on the show?
I don't remember a thing about it besides the cute main girl, but it's a "7" on my list. I don't believe it's bad, but I used to have lower standards back in 2011...

Totally opposite from "C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control" from the same time period. This one I clearly remember abandoning it because of how retarded it was. Curiously, it has a better general score than Yumekui Merry on MyAnimelist - and a "3" from me.

Watched Demon Slayer. I did not enjoy it
Watched Jujutsu Kaisen. Mid but I Enjoyed it enough

If you ask me for any more information I will explode into a slur filled rant

Somehow Fate Strange Fake is out before the series even ended. Either Nasu got tired of all the stalling or it's author Narita is just going to let the anime finish his work. Either way, if people here like action and big fights it's definitely worth it. From the trailers the animators went all out and that's why it took them this long to make it, so good on em

Word of advice, then: Do not watch any of the Votoms OVAs except for The Last Red Shoulder.
Watched that one some time ago, was actually fun. I liked how the in-universe theory about Chirico is that he had literal plot armor. If the other OVAs explain better the main show's rushed ending, that's fine. It was a bit weak, yes, but there are waaay worse examples, like the EVA Rebuild one.

With the kids going back to school, I’ll finally have time to finish some of my anime backlog. Got Oregairu/SNAFU season 3 to finish, Sugar Apple Fairy Tale because I started it and never got round to it, and my first rewatch in years of Niea_7 because Mr Tama got me the blu-ray for Christmas.

My current gripe at the moment is the fact that Monthly Girls’ Nozaki Kun will never get a season 2.

It concludes in volume 10.

It is funny to see tourists saying that Fate/strange Fake is a good place to start Fate when it is without any doubt or question the single WORST place to start of all the franchise. In the first episode you already have a gigantic outside element that anyone who doesn't have the knowledge will just think: blond girl when her existence is already full of mystery on what is she even doing here related to two different series outside of FsF.

But anime tourists just like sakuga and flashy fights so fuck them. Let them enjoy toys fights around in screen with zero contest to what they are doing.

who is the retard that said this?
strange fake doesn't even make sense if you read the original stay night and hollow ataraxia
it's narita's retarded fanfiction trying to tie every element of the nasuverse together and trying to be canon

meanwhile, you have nasu admitting tsukihime, kara no kyoukai, and almost every different fate work operate off completely separate frameworks from each other

As far back as the original Fate/Zero light novel interviews/blogs, he says it takes place in an entirely separate timeline

Gigguk the anime youtuber.

This came out last year and it is the official stance so far. Quite simple, and yeah even here it is stated to be totally different with elements of both worlds (and even more references and callbacks to other series than just tsukihime)

Also, Kara no Kyoukai is in the same timeline as Fate/stay night
