While we're on the topic of CSM, I have some gripes to air.
I binged part 1 in a single 3-hour sitting, but I've been reading part 2 biweekly as it's been coming out so my feelings may just be a product of that.
Most of part 2 is kinda bad in my opinion. It started out strong and where we're at now close to the end (I think) is pretty good, but the middle portion was poorly written (with the exception of the Falling Devil arc, that was kino).
Fujimoto took too long to reintroduce Nayuta and then killed her off too quickly, the fake chainsawman plot line didn't really go anywhere, the Fire Devil stuff hasn't really materialized. There are a ton of characters from part 1 that still need some kind of resolution (Kishibe, Kobeni and the identity of her devil, Reze, Quanxi and the no-name hybrids being prisoners of Public Safety, Pochita's whole deal still hasn't been revealed). Plus the part 2 characters that went nowhere (Kobeni's brother, the class president and the sword hybrid nigger).
Fujimoto needs to fire the Chekov's Guns of Kobeni's devil and Denji's promise to find Power.
Leaving a Chekov's Gun unfired isn't a subversion; it's bad writing. If he wasn't going to do anything with these plots he never should have written them into the story.
Maybe he can turn it around. I think it depends on if there are more arcs left in the story after the current one.
Thanks for reading my diatribe, niggers.
